Chapter 1576: Thought
Roxanne stared at the desolate landscape outside the window, panic and disbelief etched on her face. "I don't think this is a good idea, Lucian. Let's just go home now," she said, her voice upset as she pulled her coat tighter.
Lucian chuckled at her panic. "What's so bad about this? Do you know what I'm planning?"
Roxanne's eyes darted around. "Aren't you planning toโ"
Before she could finish, the car slowed. Lucian glanced at her before exiting. Roxanne swallowed her words and looked outside. Her panic morphed into confusion at the sight.
"Everything's prepared, Mr. Farwell," Cayden reported respectfully, standing beside the car.
Lucian nodded, approached the passenger side, and opened the door with a teasing smile. "This really can't be done near home. Now that you've seen what I have in mind, do you still want to go back?"
In the distance, a helipad glowed under searchlights. Several helicopters of varying sizes sat neatly on it; one was the same helicopter that had taken them home previously.
Roxanne remained dumbfounded before regaining her composure. "So, what you said earlierโฆ you meant we're flying in a helicopter?"
Raising an eyebrow, Lucian replied, "What else did you think I was talking about? Last time, I could only fly around the city briefly because the government approved it as an emergency measure."
Roxanne blushed, embarrassed. "Why didn't you say that earlier? I thoughtโฆ"
"I don't mind if that's what you want."
"No way!" Roxanne's eyes widened.
Her embarrassed, frustrated look made him smile. He took her wrist. "Come on. I'm taking you to relax."
Roxanne exited the car with Lucian's assistance. Cayden greeted her respectfully: "Mrs. Farwell."
Her blush returned. Lucian is such a scoundrel! I forgot Cayden was there. He must have heard everythingโฆ Oh god, how am I going to face him? "You can go home now. Expect a bonus this month," Lucian said to Cayden.
Cayden responded and departed, choosing not to intrude.
Soon, only the couple remained on the mountain. Lucian led her to a helicopter, pressed a button to open the hatch, took her hand, and guided her inside.
Roxanne examined the interior with curiosity. The helicopter was larger and more luxurious than the previous one. The original seats had been replaced by a couch; the floor was carpeted; and an elegant table held red wine and snacks.
"I only decided on this before we left, so Cayden had to set it up quickly," Lucian's voice whispered beside her ear before the door closed. Dim lights cast an ambiguous glow on the interior.
