Chapter 1577: Stay With You
โSit,โ Lucian said, taking Roxanneโs hand and gesturing towards the couch. After she settled, he stepped into the cockpit.
Roxanne watched him operate the aircraft. Moments later, the helicopter ascended smoothly. โYou know how to pilot a helicopter?โ she asked, astonished.
Lucian chuckled. โTruth be told, there are few things I donโt know how to do.โ
Roxanne was stunned. He wasn't wrong; his affluent upbringing afforded him countless opportunities to develop diverse interests. It was a shame he hadn't displayed this during their previous marriage.
Guessing her thoughts, Lucian glanced back. โI only learned to fly two years ago. As for the restโฆ Iโll show you in time.โ
Roxanne smiled faintly.
High above, Lucian suggested, โLook out the window.โ
The moon and stars seemed magnified, close enough to touch. As they drifted past, Roxanne relaxed, a feeling of contentment washing over her.
โItโs so beautiful,โ she murmured.
Delighted by her enjoyment, Lucian asked, โDo you want to see the sea?โ
Roxanne nodded, then hesitated. โCan we? Itโs so late.โ
โItโs nearby, and the helicopterโs fast. Weโll be there in minutes.โ Aware of her love for the ocean, Lucian swiftly turned the aircraft.
Roxanne lay by the window, watching the mountains shrink below. Minutes later, the sea appeared, the stars and moon reflecting on the waves as if floating on the surface.
Roxanne was speechless. Suddenly, Lucian appeared beside her. โDo you like it?โ
Roxanne nodded, about to answer when she noticed the pilotโs seat. โWhy are you here? The helicopterโโ
He comfortingly hugged her from behind. โItโs on autopilot.โ
Still nervous, Roxanne tensed. Sensing this, Lucian kissed her ear, chuckling. โAs long as I can stay with you, I donโt mind if we fall.โ
She quickly covered his mouth. โDonโt say such nonsense! We wonโt fall. The children are still young!โ
Lucian, feigning regret, buried his face in her neck. โThen will you die with me once theyโre grown?โ He was only half-joking.
Roxanne released him, staring intently. โWhatโs wrong with you? Why ask that?โ
