Chapter 1579: Breakfast
The couple had spent a romantic night together. Roxanne awoke the next day with aching muscles. She mused, Should I sleep in the guest room from now on?
Lucian entered, concern etched on his face. "Feeling horrible?"
Roxanne blushed, biting her lip. "All thanks to you."
Lucian smiled, sitting beside her and massaging her waist. He offered no apology. "You should rest a while longer. Essie woke early to prepare breakfast. She'll be here soon."
Roxanne's expression froze. Fearful her daughter would see her in this state, she endured the pain and attempted to rise.
"Mommy!" Estella's voice echoed from the hallway.
Roxanne winced, twisting her back accidentally and gasping in pain.
"What's wrong, Mommy?" Seeing her mother's distress, Estella rushed in, reaching for her waist.
Lucian gently stopped her. "Mommy accidentally sprained her waist, sweetheart. Don't touch. Are you here to invite Mommy to breakfast?"
Estella nodded.
Anticipating Lucian's next words, Roxanne quickly interjected, "I'll be down soon. Wait for me in the dining room, okay?"
Estella remained visibly worried.
Roxanne shot Lucian a glare, then patted Estella's head. "I'm fine, sweetie. Just an accident. All better now."
She stood and took a couple of steps, easing Estella's worry.
The moment Estella left, Roxanne dropped the pretense. I barely slept. This man has no self-control...
Lucian apologetically escorted Roxanne to the bathroom. When he attempted further intimacy, she firmly dismissed him.
They eventually descended to the dining room. There, Roxanne found a glass of milk and a sandwich.
It was simple, yet clearly a feat for a five-year-old.
Catalina explained, "Ms. Estella has been learning and practicing breakfast for days, Mrs. Farwell. Only today did she feel confident enough to share her work."
Roxanne turned to Estella, who gazed at her with hopeful, shining eyes. Touched, Roxanne took a bite. "It's delicious! Good job, Essie!"
"You make better food, Mommy!" Estella replied, beaming.
Roxanne laughed. "Why did you make breakfast for me?"
Glancing at her brothers, Estella confessed, "I wanted to, but we made you angry yesterday..."
The boys chimed in, "We know we were wrong, Mommy! We promise no more pranks, and we'll keep learning from Daddy!"
Roxanne smiled warmly. "I'm glad! I believe one day you'll all become the world's greatest hackers!"
Lucian agreed from the side, "They certainly have the talent."
