Chapter 1578: Reward
Lucian tightened his arms around her. โNothing. The view simply reminded me you haven't agreed to my marriage proposal.โ
Roxanne recalled the ring still in her possession. Heโd said she should wear it if she accepted, butโฆ Embarrassed, she turned, gazing at the waves below. โIs that ceremony really that important? If youโre taking it so seriously, we should be sleeping in separate rooms.โ
His behavior gave him pause, but after reflection, he felt heโd done nothing wrong. Instead, his desires intensified. He kissed her neck, touching her inappropriately. โThose are different things. Only we know how we sleep. I want everyone to know youโre mine.โ
Roxanne blushed, sensing the shift in his demeanor. โYou should return to the cockpit before somethingโฆ happens!โ
Lucian persisted. โLook at the beautiful sceneryโฆโ
Quickly, Roxanne took his hands. โDidnโt you say this trip was for me to relax?โ
Lucian sighed, dismissing the inappropriate thoughts. He simply gazed at the sea, hugging her. โYou still havenโt answered my question.โ
Calming herself, Roxanne lowered her eyes. โI did. Only we know.โ
A satisfied smile touched Lucianโs lips. Roxanne felt his hardened body against her back, too nervous to move. Only when he returned to the cockpit and flew the helicopter back did she breathe a sigh of relief, immediately worrying about her waist. I shouldn't have come, she thought. And is he flying this thing faster now?
Landing on the helipad, he approached her. โAre you feeling better?โ
Touched, Roxanne smiled, her eyes sparkling. โMuch better. Thank you.โ She hadn't expected him to care so deeply about her mood that he'd take her on a nighttime helicopter ride.
Lucian frowned. โThatโs all you have to say?โ
Confused, Roxanne was about to leave the helicopter when Lucian, noticing the open hatch, grabbed her wrist and embraced her from behind. โI donโt get a reward?โ
Thinking him calmed, Roxanne kissed the corner of his lips. As she moved to leave, he encircled her waist, deepening the kiss. His overwhelming kiss stole her breath; she felt the movement of his body against hers.
His voice, hoarse, reached her ear. โI donโt want to wait. How about we try it in the helicopter? No one will see us.โ
Pushing him away, she refused. โNo! Letโs hurry home!โ
Instead of forcing her, he took her to the car and drove her home.
