Chapter 1584: It Is Only Right
Lucian smiled faintly. โIf I think lowering the price will benefit us, Iโll definitely remain firm in that decision.โ
Roxanne didnโt understand. โBut Jack canโt accept it, and the collaboration will fall apart.โ
Thatโs precisely what happened; Damaris Group unilaterally terminated the collaboration.
Lucianโs expression remained unchanged. โIโll force him to work with me.โ
Roxanne frowned. โHow?โ
โBy using public opinion. The Damaris family has operated their business for over a century. The public perceives them as benevolent, yet theyโre unwilling to lower medicine prices. Making this public will force them to lower prices, even for reputationโs sake.โ
Roxanne nodded, feeling sheโd learned something new. Butโฆ
Lucian anticipated her concern. โHowever, this would damage the Damaris familyโs reputation. I donโt mind, but you do.โ
Roxanne nodded. The Damaris family held a significant position in the medical industry; she, too, considered them exemplary. Furthermore, this pricing decision might be solely Jackโs.
Roxanne didnโt want to ruin the Damaris familyโs reputation. Doing so would impact the entire traditional medicine industry. Feeling defeated, she said, โI canโt do that, but Iโve contacted all the suppliers I know. None can replace the Damaris family.โ
Lucian raised an eyebrow at her troubled expression. โPerhaps I can help.โ
Roxanneโs eyes lit up, but hesitation followed. โThis is the research instituteโs problem. I canโt keep asking you for help.โ
โBut the matter is urgent, and youโre out of options.โ
Roxanne opened her mouth, but couldnโt counter him.
Lucian added, โAnyway, Iโm not helping for free.โ
โYou want a share of the profits?โ Roxanne asked, confused.
Lucian was surprised by her question. After a moment, he smiled. โIf it were someone else, Iโd have seized the opportunity to gain something.โ
Roxanneโs heart pounded. The thought of discussing business with him in the future gave her a headache.
โBut since itโs you, I want something else,โ Lucian continued.
Roxanne felt relieved and puzzled.
Lucian leaned close, murmuring something in her ear before returning to his seat, smiling expectantly. Roxanneโs face flushed; a hesitant look filled her eyes.
Without pressure, Lucian drove toward the research institute. At the entrance, he turned to her. โWhat do you think?โ
Roxanne, hesitant throughout the journey, finally nodded resignedly.
Upon receiving her answer, Lucian smiled, unbuckled his seatbelt, and kissed her. Only when Roxanne ran out of breath did he reluctantly release her.
โIf the research institute canโt hold on, tell me. I can provide funds whenever needed,โ Lucian said hoarsely.
Suddenly, Roxanne felt something was amiss. โWhy do I feel like Iโve become your sugar baby, and youโre even supporting the entire research institute?โ
Lucian shook his head. โYouโre my wife. Itโs only right for you to spend my money.โ
Roxanne blushed, silent. She would never ask him for money.
