Chapter 1585: Did Roxanne Say Yes?

After watching Roxanne enter the research institute, Lucian turned the car around and headed toward Queen Group. Jonathan had just returned and was about to enter his office when Lucian arrived.

“Lucian, what brings you here today?” Jonathan smiled, but Lucian's expression surprised him. “Wait. Are you really Lucian, or are you someone disguised as him?”

Lucian's expression turned cold. “Yes, it's me.”

Jonathan was only convinced when Lucian schooled his features. He opened the door and invited Lucian into the office.

“Why are you here out of the blue?” Jonathan asked, after pouring two cups of coffee. “Did you and Roxanne—”

Lucian cut him off. “Roxanne needs your help.”

“Consider it done,” Jonathan agreed instantly.

“I would like to trouble you to—”

“Don’t be so formal,” Jonathan interrupted, shocked. “If you speak like that, I’ll blame myself if I fail to help.”

“Find all domestic medicinal herb suppliers or farms capable of replacing Damaris Group, as quickly as possible. I need you to secure a deal with them, regardless of price.”

Jonathan's smile froze. He chuckled dryly. “That’s indeed a little troublesome.”

Lucian raised an eyebrow, looking slightly threatening. Jonathan quickly explained, “Lucian, you don’t know the pharmaceutical industry. Damaris Group’s medicinal herbs are exceptionally high quality. Their longevity is due to their impeccable reputation. Finding comparable suppliers will be extremely difficult.”

Lucian remained impassive.

Jonathan shuddered inwardly and added, “It's not impossible, just… labor-intensive.”

“Farwell Group has a project. Perhaps Queen Group can get involved,” Lucian suggested.

It was an exchange. Jonathan was interested in Farwell Group's projects, but he needed to understand Lucian's urgency.

“Did Roxanne's partnership with Damaris Group fail?” he asked cautiously.

Lucian nodded.

Jonathan exclaimed, “That’s great! You don’t have to worry about Roxanne and Jack getting too close now!”

Lucian sipped his coffee. “If you can help me find another supplier, I won’t have to worry about other men, let alone Jack.”

Jonathan froze, taking several minutes to recover. He guessed, “Did Roxanne say yes?”

Lucian’s lips curled into a smile. “Something like that, but we have to settle this first.”

Jonathan sighed. “Finally! It’s been so long. I can’t believe you two are getting married!” He understood Lucian’s earlier smile. “Well, for Essie’s sake, I’ll settle this. Just wait for my good news.”

Lucian chuckled and raised his cup. Jonathan clinked his against it, and they downed their coffee as if it were alcohol.
