Chapter 1658: Emergency Treatment

At the hospital, Madilyn anxiously watched as the medical team worked in Roxanne's ward. They deliberated from afternoon until midnight, but failed to determine a treatment plan. Still, Madilyn refused to give up, desperately hoping to use her own medical expertise to awaken Roxanne. However, the exhausted experts, many of whom were elderly, needed rest after their long night. With regret, Madilyn allowed them to leave.

"Roxanne, you have incredible medical skills," she murmured, holding Roxanne's hand. "Can you give me a hint? Tell me how to save you? I wish I were here instead. If I were unconscious, you would know how to save me."

Lost in despair and guilt, Madilyn noticed Roxanne's eyelashes flutter. Eyes widening, she tightened her grip on Roxanne's hand. "Roxanne? Can you hear me?"

Roxanne's eyebrows furrowed. Madilyn knew this wasn't her imagination. She pressed the call bell, then rushed out to summon the medical team.

"What's wrong, Dr. Xander?" an expert asked nervously. "Did Ms. Jarvis respond?"

"Hurry!" Madilyn exclaimed, nodding fervently. "I think she's waking up!"

Returning to the ward, she found the experts already gathered, their sleepiness forgotten. Roxanne's frown deepened, her face contorted in pain.

An expert hesitated. "I don't think this is her waking up. It's more like..." He trailed off, unwilling to voice his fears.

Madilyn, a doctor herself, understood immediately. "Prepare for emergency treatment!"

The highly skilled team, working in a well-equipped ward, quickly organized. Roxanne's pain intensified; her face flushed, and she gasped for air. Madilyn felt Roxanne's hand clench hers with surprising strength, veins bulging on her arm.

"Roxanne..." Madilyn whispered, tears welling. The intensity of Roxanne's pain, her unconscious gripโ€”it fueled Madilyn's rage. What had Jack done to her? She vowed revenge.

"Don't be scared," she reassured Roxanne, though she knew the words weren't heard. "You'll be fine. I will cure you. I promise."

After a tense period, the attending physician wiped sweat from his brow. "Ms. Jarvis's blood vessels are rapidly contracting and expanding," he said gravely. "We need to sedate her immediately!"
