Chapter 1734: Is This How You Behave?

Jack waited twenty-five minutes, but Lucian still hadn't arrived. His face hardened. Lucian wasn't coming. Earlier, during their phone call, Lucian had made a solemn vow, claiming he'd do anything, but clearly that wasn't true. His feelings for Roxanne were a joke!

"Mr. Damaris, half an hour has passed, and Mr. Farwell isn't here. Should I call him?" Kevin asked cautiously.

Jack replied coldly, "Yes."

Kevin immediately called Lucian, but Lucian hung up without speaking. Kevin stared at his phone, then at his boss's contorted face. The office tension was unbearable.

"Lucian! That swine! How dare he fool me again!" Jack hissed, gritting his teeth. "One day, he'll kneel and beg!"

Kevin longed to escape, but sensed Jack's gaze. He had no choice but to ask, "Mr. Damaris, what should we do now?"

"There's still an hour!" Jack said, glancing at the clock. "I don't believe they can create the antidote! We wait!" If Lucian didn't come and beg, he would wait for news of Roxanne's death.

Kevin breathed a sigh of relief when Jack looked away, searching for an excuse to leave.

Just then, he saw something approaching the Damaris Group buildingโ€”a helicopter.

"Mr. Damaris, what's that?" he quickly pointed out.

Jack, too, saw the approaching helicopter. He squinted, recognizing the Farwell Group insignia.

"Lucian! You're here after all!"

He smirked arrogantly. As the helicopter vanished, he sat down, crossing his legs. Lucian must be worried about being late, hence the helicopter. Jack knew he was Roxanne's only hope; everything was under his control.

Exhilarated, he was even willing to overlook Lucian's tardiness. He would humiliate him later.

As he plotted Lucian's torment, a commotion erupted outside his office doorโ€”not a knock, but a battering.

Jack's expression turned cold. "Go see what it is!" he told Kevin.

Kevin, also unnerved, willingly obeyed. He opened the door to find Lucian, cold and austere, flanked by two black-clad bodyguards poised to break down the door. They stopped only because Kevin opened it.

"Mr. Farwell, is this how you beg?" Jack rose slowly, eyeing them cautiously, yet feeling superior.

Lucian, expressionless, strolled into the office. Jack found his demeanor peculiar. He frowned. "Are you planning to take it by force?"
