“Calm down, everyone. What’s going on?”

Hector suspected Jack was the source of the trouble, but the matter involved Damaris Group, so he intervened. The crowd, showing respect for Hector’s long standing in the medical field and his past kindnesses, quieted slightly.

“Mr. Damaris, this doesn’t concern you. Please have Jack speak to us.”

Hector surveyed the room, recognizing many superintendents from companies with business ties to Damaris Group—some long-standing partners, now visibly enraged. This further unsettled him. He maintained his composure, saying, “Jack isn’t here. Please tell me what happened. If he’s at fault, I apologize on behalf of Damaris Group.”

After a tense silence, the room erupted again as the crowd realized Hector wouldn't summon Jack.

“Mr. Damaris, we collaborated with Damaris Group for years, trusting in its stability and growth. But now, after this disaster, our investments are worthless! Your grandson’s actions have tarnished Damaris Group’s reputation. Can we still receive the promised balance? The project is almost complete!”

“Disastrous incident? Despised by everyone?” Hector felt dizzy and panicked. “What is going on? What happened to Damaris Group?”

Hector’s pallor silenced most, but some prioritized self-interest. One explained Damaris Group’s predicament: a lawsuit, seized warehouses, plummeting stock prices—all because of Jack.

Hector’s face drained of color. “That unfilial son! I told him to stay out of Damaris Group’s operations. I warned him…” He stopped, realizing his audience. He knew Lucian was behind Damaris Group’s downfall. Revealing that would only sever remaining partnerships.

The agony was unbearable. He could only regret his poor judgment, his failure to recognize Jack’s greed, and his decision to entrust Damaris Group to him. Remorse overwhelmed him. His pre-existing heart condition, coupled with the intense grief and anger, proved too much. He collapsed.

Kevin arrived to find Hector unconscious. He rushed to help, but someone identified Kevin as Jack’s assistant, unleashing further pandemonium.
