Chapter 1770: Seek Her Opinion in Everything
โArchie, Benny, how do you both know so much? Did you learn all that from Mommy? I want to learn too! I want to master all that!โ Estella pleaded with Lucian, โDaddy, have Mommy teach me, wonโt you?โ
โOkay, okay. Iโll ask your mommy to teach you when sheโs free. But donโt you like fashion design? Mastering fashion design is also commendable!โ Lucian smiled, gently guiding her. Talent and passion differed greatly from a passing interest.
โAll right, Iโll study both then. I want to learn medical skills and fashion design. Iโll work harder!โ Estella declared, her resolve evident. Archie and Benny immediately voiced their support. Lucian, observing this, felt they doted on her excessively.
Upstairs, Roxanne overheard their conversation. A smile played on her lips. She felt a profound sense of peace and joy, unlike anything sheโd experienced before. Her previously anxious heart settled, replaced by a deep feeling of security. She felt utterly blissful.
After Lucian sent the triplets to kindergarten, she returned to sleep. Upon waking, she found Cayden had arrived, delivering a thick stack of documents requiring Lucianโs signature. Since her near-death experience, several unusual events had occurred: Lucian had taken several days off work, and important contracts were now signed at the mansion. Cayden, ever tactful, complied with this new arrangement; he had never seen his employer so relaxed and content.
Once Lucian finished signing, Cayden excused himself, granting them privacy. Before he left, Lucian asked, โWhatโs the progress on the matter I asked you to investigate last night?โ
โThere are leads. A man Frieda has been in contact with is from the north. She recently established a new company and is recklessly spending money to acquire the Damaris familyโs depreciating assets. Itโs likely his doing. Iโll report back once I confirm his identity,โ Cayden replied quietly. Lucian nodded, and Cayden departed.
When Roxanne entered the living room, she saw shopping bags filled with supplements and nutritional foods on the coffee table. โIt seems Caydenโs learned these formalities,โ she chuckled, โthough he didnโt need to buy so much.โ
Lucian shook his head, denying Caydenโs involvement.
โThen who sent these?โ Roxanne asked.
โElektra brought them earlier. She wanted to visit you, but you were asleep, so I didnโt wake you. I simply said you werenโt home. She didnโt stay long,โ Lucian explained calmly. Such social niceties held little significance for him.
โOh, I see. Did you thank her for me?โ
Roxanne, a doctor, recognized the largely superfluous nature of the gifts, but appreciated Elektraโs kindness.
โYes. She also invited us to dinner. I didnโt immediately respond, so you can decide. I donโt mind either way,โ Lucian said, cherishing this time with Roxanne. He was determined to involve her in every decision, to prevent future problems.
โWell, Iโm fine either way. Sheโs just returned from abroad and helped me immensely, so I should treat her to a meal. You can extend the invitation on my behalf,โ Roxanne replied.
