Chapter 1781: Evidence

A long conversation with the boys left Elias feeling gratified. They expressed regret for past events, but he hadn't acted as their grandfather should have. Fortunately, Roxanne was a good mother, and speaking with the boys revealed their strong personalities and remarkable intelligence. There was no disparity between them; they were strikingly intelligent and talented.

Archie, the elder, possessed a surprisingly sharp memory and meticulous logic, displaying exceptional leadership potential and decision-making skills. Benny, the younger, had a keen, inquisitive mind with a passion for technology, making him ideally suited for research and development. Their complementary personalities fit together perfectly, as if destined to be a team. Estella, meanwhile, was charming, energetic, and detail-oriented, with undiscovered talents waiting to be revealed. The three children were truly a blessing to the Farwell family.

Archie and Benny, feeling close to Elias, engaged in a lively conversation, their moods brightening with each shared word. By the time Sonya finished watching Estella's dance, school dismissal was approaching. She took Estella's hand and led her to Jeffrey's office.

Finding her husband chatting amicably with Archie and Benny, Sonya struggled to suppress her anger. โ€œDid you lose weight recently, Essie? Let me have a look!โ€ she exclaimed, then murmured, โ€œWas it because your mother neglected you?โ€ Her intention to blame Roxanne was clear.

Estella immediately shook her head, explaining, โ€œItโ€™s not like that, Grandma. Mommy was very sick, and she just recovered. I was worried about her, but I ate my meals on time.โ€

Archie instantly defended his mother, countering Sonyaโ€™s accusation. โ€œMommy treats Essie very well. The change in Essieโ€™s appearance is just her losing baby fat. She might look thinner, but her weight is actually the same.โ€

Elias smiled and nodded, appreciating Archieโ€™s logical explanation.

Benny, unwilling to be outdone by his brother, added, โ€œMommy and we treat Essie wonderfully. I make sure Essie gets meat, vegetables, and fruit. How could Mommy be inattentive when she even taught Essie several idioms?โ€

Sonya was speechless, finding herself without support in the room. Finally, with a frown, she muttered, โ€œItโ€™s almost time. Elias, letโ€™s go.โ€

โ€œAll right. You can wait outside. I have some advice for the children.โ€

Sonya immediately stormed out of the kindergarten.

Elias remained, inquiring about the children's preferences for gifts. He wanted to compensate for what the Farwell family owed Archie and Benny.

โ€œGrandpa, we donโ€™t need anything. We just want to see you more often.โ€

โ€œGrandpa, I want to learn chess. Daddy said youโ€™re good at it. Please teach us.โ€

Elias readily agreed to their simple requests. Before leaving, he hugged the boys, gave them his phone number, and urged them to take care of themselves. Jeffrey walked the children back to their classrooms. Eliasโ€™s cheerful mood persisted even after leaving the kindergarten.

To Sonya, however, his smile was infuriating. She vowed, "I can't let Roxanne's lies continue. I have to force her to show me some evidence!"
