Chapter 1802: A More Intimate Position
Around nine-thirty that evening, Elias finished his coffee and was about to begin practicing calligraphy in the Farwell study when a car arrived in the courtyard. Sonya rose; it was her awaited visitor.
Elias glanced downstairs and saw Clinton Jennings, the testing facility director. Clinton greeted Sonya politely, โHello, Mrs. Farwell.โ
โPlease have a seat, Mr. Jennings,โ Sonya replied warmly, offering him coffee.
His apprehension was evident. โIf you need anything, Mrs. Farwell, please let me know. I will do my best to assist you,โ he offered quickly.
As the testing facility director, Clinton knew the Farwell Group's acquisition of his small facility was inconsequential. He'd met Lucian only once, at the signing of the purchase agreement. Therefore, he was puzzled by Sonya's request to see him.
He'd initially considered bringing a gift, but decided against it, fearing it might appear rushed and inappropriate. He opted for a simple visit.
Seeing his stiffness, Sonya reassured him with a smile, โCalm down. Itโs nothing serious.โ
Clinton nodded, took a sip of coffee, and asked, โWhat do you need, Mrs. Farwell?โ
โDid you receive the test materials that night?โ Sonya inquired.
โYes.โ
Sonya's gaze hardened. โThose are hairs from Lucianโs sons. Itโs for a paternity test. Do you understand?โ
Clinton understood immediately. โYes, Mrs. Farwell. I will contact you with the results,โ he promised.
He finished his coffee, praising its aroma, and after a second cup, departed with a bright smile. Sonya felt relieved. Regardless of the outcome, she had time to prepare. Ideally, Lucian and the boys weren't related. Even if they were, she wasn't worried; as long as she had Clinton, the results weren't final.
Meanwhile, Elias, observing from the study, felt uneasy. After a momentโs hesitation, he texted someone.
Lucian's fever had subsided. Heโd even eaten the oatmeal Roxanne prepared.
โIโve slept all day and Iโm not sleepy now, but Iโm a little worried. Will I infect you?โ Lucian asked Roxanne.
โI donโt think so. This virus is contagious, but my immunity is stronger after the poisoning. I likely wonโt be infected.โ
As she finished, Lucian pulled her close. โWhat if we were in a more intimate position? Likeโโ
Roxanne blushed, breaking free. โStop that. Your immunity is low. Behave yourself.โ She couldn't believe his insatiable nature.
Unfazed, Lucian grinned. โI canโt help it. I misbehave when itโs you.โ He hugged her again.
