Chapter 1803: The Results Are Out
Usually, paternity results took three days. However, Clinton expedited the process, delivering them the next morning. The report stated: "In line with the laws of genetics, the probability of paternity is ninety-nine point nine percent."
Clinton pondered the results. He suspected Mrs. Farwell desired a different outcome; otherwise, she wouldn't have sought a private meeting. He immediately called Sonya.
She answered groggily. Recognizing Clinton's voice, she grew anxious.
"Good morning, Mrs. Farwell. This is Clinton. The paternity results are in."
"Quickly, are the boys Lucian's?" Sonya demanded.
Clinton paused, rereading the report. "The results show a positive relationship. The boys are Mr. Farwell's children."
Sonya was stunned. "How is that possible? Could there be a mistake?"
"Mrs. Farwell, we use state-of-the-art equipment and our staff are the best in Chanaea. There's no chance of error," Clinton replied, crushing her last hope.
Sonya abruptly hung up, leaving Clinton waiting. What went wrong? Were the boys truly Farwell descendants?
Overwhelmed, Sonya recalled her past insults and provocations toward the boys. She trembled. "What do I do?" she whispered, conflicted.
Roxanne's disapproval flashed in her mind. She couldn't accept this. Lucian would never forgive her. She called Clinton again.
"Keep the original results but create a copy for me. Ten million is your reward. No one else must know," Sonya instructed, confident in Clinton's obedience.
Clinton, swayed by the offer, readily agreed.
That afternoon, Lucian awoke to Roxanne preparing a meal.
"I thought you'd be hungry, so I cooked," Roxanne said gently.
Lucian smiled. "Your cooking? How could I refuse?"
Roxanne checked his temperature and examined his complexion. "Open your mouth; let me see your tongue." She was relieved to see he'd recovered well.
Halfway through his meal, Sonya called. "Lucian, the testing facility is coming to the main residence with the report. Why don't you and Roxanne come see it?" Sonya feigned calmness, hoping to avoid suspicion.
