Chapter 1807: Gravity of Your Mistake

Roxanne remained silent. Lucian glared at Clinton. โ€œPack your things and leave!โ€

An icy glint shone in his eyes. Clinton, having narrowly avoided prison, fled without protest.

Sonya reviewed the report before addressing Roxanne. Her tone shifted. โ€œRoxanneโ€”Itโ€™s all my fault. I apologize to your sons for my pettiness. Roxanne, tell Lucian I promise to change. Iโ€™m so sorryโ€ฆโ€

Sonya, usually unwilling to compromise, was terrified by the prospect of banishment to Epea for three to five years.

Roxanne's expression was impassive, her eyes cold. โ€œIโ€™m sorry, Mrs. Farwell. Itโ€™s not up to me.โ€ She left the foyer with long strides.

Elias, tending the garden, worriedly frowned. โ€œPlease forgive me, Lucian. I was at fault, but I only tried to do what was best for the Farwell family. I wasn't thinking clearly. I will make it up to the children. I don't want to go to Epea!โ€

Sonya continued her apologies, but Lucian was resolute. He led Roxanne away, leaving Sonya alone in the foyer. A moment later, wails filled the air.

โ€œI did it for the Farwell family! Donโ€™t you respect me, Roxanne? Iโ€™m still your mother-in-law! What do you want from me?โ€ Her cries were laced with resentment.

Elias, despite Sonya's years as his wife, felt a pang of sadness at her weeping. He had warned her repeatedly, but her stubbornness had led to this. Nevertheless, he entered the foyer.

Sonya sobbed, blaming Roxanne for not intervening. She believed Lucian would change his mind if Roxanne spoke up.

Elias, seeing his wife's lack of remorse, snarled, โ€œThis is entirely your fault. You've been blinded since the Aubree incident, causing our children immense pain. You never considered Lucian's feelings. You crave control. What was so wrong with Roxanne that you couldn't accept her? Sheโ€™s never harmed you or Lucian. You should repent!โ€

Sonyaโ€™s tear-stained face lifted, her eyes wide with disbelief. โ€œYouโ€™re criticizing me? I made a mistake, but itโ€™s not irreparable,โ€ she hiccuped.

Disappointment pierced Elias. โ€œYou don't understand the gravity of your mistake. Youโ€™re hurting the children and denying their existence! Roxanne said nothing today, but can you imagine her suffering? Youโ€™ve disliked her from the start. Serves you right!โ€ He spat and left.
