Chapter 1815: Vomit Bag

After the driver arrived, Jonathan carefully helped Madilyn into the car. He immediately retrieved a vomit bag from the trunk, anticipating the worst. Though dizzy, she remained conscious, and couldn't help but admire his meticulousness. Once inside, he handed her the bag and instructed the driver, "Drive slowly and avoid sharp turns." He then distanced himself, sitting upright and gazing out the window, appearing uninvolved.

Madilyn finally understood why such a handsome, eligible man remained single. The effects of her celebratory drinking began to set in. Seconds later, she closed her eyes and seemed to fall asleep. Jonathan glanced over; her head was slumping, though her eyes remained closed.

"Ms. Xander, are you asleep?" he asked.

Madilyn was semi-conscious, uncomfortable with her head unsupported. She longed to lean on him, but he remained indifferent. Drifting back to sleep, her head inadvertently fell onto his shoulder. Partially aware, she felt the discomfort and instinctively moved closer. Unexpectedly, he used his other hand to support her head.

This startled her awake. His hand forcefully lifted her head. "Ms. Xander, wake up! Don't fall asleep; it's easy to vomit like this!" His voice was low and gentle.

Speechless, Madilyn shifted away and sat upright. This man is difficult, she thought, sighing inwardly before gradually drifting off again.

Upon arriving at her destination, Jonathan immediately exited to assist her. However, Madilyn had sobered considerably and alighted the car herself. "Thank you, Mr. Queen, for the vomit bag!" she said, handing it back with a flushed face and a hint of resentment, before quickly disappearing into the residential area.

Jonathan rubbed his nose, confused by her annoyance. Was the air conditioning too cold? he wondered. He then called Lucian, reporting that he'd safely escorted Madilyn home.

"Good job. Any further developments?" Lucian asked casually.

"What developments? I simply followed your instructions and delivered Ms. Xander home," Jonathan replied seriously.

Lucian paused for a moment before nodding. "Okay, then!"

As soon as he hung up, Roxanne's phone rang. It was Madilyn.

"Roxanne, can you believe it? He gave me a vomit bag as soon as I got in the car! Oh my goodness! Not a hangover pill, not water, but a vomit bag! Roxanne, am I doomed? Do I deserve this?" Madilyn exclaimed angrily.

Roxanne chuckled. She never imagined Jonathan could be so oblivious. Previously, she'd assumed his focus on the Queen family precluded romantic entanglements. It seemed she'd been wrong.
