Chapter 1830: Is It That Serious?

Roxanne arrived at the research institute and was about to don her lab coat when Madilyn called.

“Roxanne, Jonathan has a serious case of gastritis! Multiple polyps and erosion—I was careless and forgot to take tissue samples!” Madilyn’s voice was laced with worry.

“Don’t worry, Madilyn. Send the images to my phone; I’ll take a look. It might not be as serious as you think. I have other treatment options. What are you afraid of?”

Madilyn quickly hung up and sent the images. Roxanne examined them, a sigh escaping her lips. Jonathan's condition was indeed severe, likely a result of poor eating habits and alcohol consumption. Fortunately, it was treatable. She would use modern medicine to combat the bacteria and supplement it with her own traditional remedies. With strict adherence to her advice, he could likely recover within three months. She reassured Madilyn.

Relieved, Madilyn heard the news of Jonathan’s potential recovery. Jonathan, still undergoing examinations, seemed unconcerned, completing all tests without issue. All results, including the colonoscopy, were normal except for his severely inflamed stomach. Madilyn instructed the staff to detain Jonathan.

“Mr. Queen, the director would like to see you.”

Jonathan, recognizing Madilyn, recalled her promotion. “Ms. Xander, I didn’t realize you were director. You’re doing a great job. The examination process was impressive,” he complimented.

Madilyn's expression remained serious, but she gestured him to sit.

“However, I have a suggestion. The gastroscopy doctor was a bit rough,” Jonathan commented, puzzled by Madilyn's demeanor. He offered the feedback intending to improve the hospital's standards.

Madilyn was startled. She hadn’t expected a complaint. She retrieved his report. “Mr. Queen, does your family have a history of gastric disease?”

Jonathan shook his head, sensing her disinterest in his earlier comment.

“Do you consume foods with high bacterial concentrations, or have you been exposed to radioactive substances?” Madilyn pressed, her expression stern.

Jonathan shook his head, finally realizing the gravity of his situation. “Ms. Xander, is something wrong with my stomach?”

“Yes! It’s serious. You neglect your health! Delay could lead to stomach cancer. Do you understand?”

Madilyn’s tone frightened Jonathan.

“I-Is it really that serious?”
