Chapter 1851: Sudden Visit
Roxanne was surprised by how exhausting wedding photography proved to be. Holding attractive poses for nearly ten minutes at a time left her utterly drained; by the end, even forcing a smile felt impossible. Fortunately, Lucian's lightheartedness kept her spirits up.
When the shoot finally concluded, she vehemently protested Lucian's mention of additional locations. The photographer, a young woman, marvelled at the couple, declaring them the most beautiful she'd ever photographed, requiring minimal post-production work. She even offered to take vacation photos during their honeymoon if Roxanne was free. Roxanne readily agreed, and Lucian offered no objections.
Returning home, the children, whom Cayden had dropped off, immediately swarmed them, eager to see the wedding pictures. Their effusive praiseโ"Mommy, you're the most beautiful bride!"โ"Daddy, where are the photos?"โ"Wow! Daddy's handsome, but Mommy's even more beautiful, like a movie star!"โmade the entire day worthwhile. Lucian and Roxanne exchanged a knowing smile.
The children's excited chatter continued during dinner, peppered with questions about the wedding date, honeymoon plans, and the possibility of a new sibling. The couple found themselves lamenting the children's rapid growth.
Suddenly, a car pulled up to the porch. The butler admitted the visitor, suggesting someone familiar. Elektra's arrival during dinner, however, was quite unexpected. Visiting during a meal is generally considered impolite unless urgent. Elektra, however, could delay no longer.
She had seen Lucian's Instagram postโa photograph of their marriage certificate and an intimate picture of the coupleโand panicked. Despair threatened to overwhelm her. Feeling utterly helpless, she desperately sought solace.
Christina's scornful words echoed in her mind: "So what if they remarried? They divorced before. How can you be sure he won't leave Roxanne again? Your only chance comes from me." Clinging to Christina's plan, Elektra agreed to proceed.
Overwhelmed by panic, she drove to the Farwell residence during dinner. She hadn't come for Lucian; she sought clarity. Pestering him would only arouse Roxanne's suspicions and push Lucian further away.
"Lucian, Roxanne, congratulations on registering your marriage!" Suppressing her emotions, Elektra played the role of a well-wishing friend.
Roxanne and Lucian beckoned her closer, and the children invited her to join them for dinner. Elektra tactfully declined, explaining a late lunch and irregular mealtimes due to a demanding business plan. Then, turning to Roxanne, she added, "I have something to discuss with you."
Roxanne, expecting a visit from Lucian, was taken aback. She nodded, put down her cutlery, and joined her guest in the living room.
