Chapter 1861: Read Her Mind

Roxanne emerged from the operating room, removed her mask, and flashed Madilyn a smile. "Madilyn, we succeeded!" she announced.

Madilyn leaped from her seat. Her previously trembling body stiffened at Roxanne's words, then joy flooded her face. She rushed forward and hugged Roxanne tightly. "Thank you so much, Roxanne. Thank you for saving my mom! You're my savior! I don't know how I could ever repay youโ€ฆ"

Roxanne embraced Madilyn, patting her back. "It's okay now. Everything is okay. Mrs. Xander's heart failure is cured. She'll be fine."

Tears streamed down Madilyn's face. Lucian, standing nearby, gave Roxanne an approving thumbs-up.

As Roxanne reminded Madilyn to care for Lorraine, exhaustion washed over her. "All right, I know. It's almost dawn; hurry home with Mr. Farwell and get some sleep. I'll take care of everything here," Madilyn said, her concern evident. She was completely calm now.

Roxanne nodded and left with Lucian. The fatigue was overwhelming; Lucian ended up piggybacking her to their car. She fell asleep instantly in the back seat. Lucian drove slowly and carefully, reluctant to disturb her. She awoke groggily at home, and Lucian carried her to their bedroom.

Feeling utterly content with such a reliable man by her side, Roxanne drifted off with a soft smile. She slept until nearly dinnertime.

After washing up, she went downstairs. The children's laughter reached her. Sonya, seeing Roxanne, stopped feeding Estella. "Roxanne, I'll reheat your food," she said, heading to the kitchen.

"Mom, it's fine. I can do it myself," Roxanne replied.

Elias grinned. "Let her do it. It's what she should do as your mother-in-law. Lucian told me about last nightโ€”you saved Mrs. Xander's mother! You're impressive!"

"It's nothing, Dad. It's my duty. I even had to trouble you and Mom with the children."

"Hahaha! We're delighted to care for them! Rest as much as you can. Don't overwork yourself at the institute."

Elias's generosity and open-mindedness earned Roxanne's deep respect.

After dinner, Lucian returned home, anticipating Roxanne's needs. He carried bags of gifts and nutritional supplements perfect for a hospital visit. They returned to the hospital.

Over ten hours later, Lorraine had awakened. Madilyn remained at her side, closely monitoring the electrocardiogram. Lorraine's heart rate was steadily normalizing, and she felt energized.

Upon entering the ward, Roxanne and Lucian saw a healthier Lorraine, receiving sufficient blood supply.

"Mrs. Xander, we're here to visit you," Roxanne chirped.
