Estella refused to go home, wanting to see Roxanne. Lucian, therefore, waited on a corner. He was completely unprepared for the news he received.

Estella looked anxiously at Lucian, grabbing his sleeve. "Ms. Jarvisโ€”"

Lucian anticipated her question. "What happened to Ms. Jarvis?"

Lysa, unaware of their connection, explained, "Ms. Jarvis wasn't feeling well last night. I thought she was exhausted, but she had a high fever this afternoon. I need to return and care for her."

She took the boys' hands and left. Archie and Benny departed hastily, without saying goodbye to Estella.

Estella's eyes welled up. She whispered, "Ms. Jarvisโ€”"

Lucian hesitated, then instructed his driver to follow Lysa's car so they could visit Roxanne.

The boys, deeply worried, rushed into their mother's room, ignoring Lucian's arrival. Lysa didn't stop Lucian and Estella from going upstairs.

Roxanne awoke to the boys opening the door. She saw their worried faces.

"Mommy, how are you? You must feel awful," Archie said, touching her forehead and recoiling at its heat.

Roxanne smiled reassuringly. "It's just a fever. Sleep will help."

Then, she heard a little girl's voice: "Ms. Jarvisโ€”"

Roxanne turned to see Estella, fretting at the bedsheet, looking worried. "Essie? Why is she here?" Instinctively, she glanced at the doorway and saw Lucian standing there.

He frowned, entering the room. "High fever?"

With conflicting emotions, Roxanne replied calmly, "It's not serious. I'm a doctor; I know my body. Sleep will cure it."

Lysa countered, "You've slept for almost twenty-four hours, and you're still sick. Why not go to the hospital?"

Lucian narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

Roxanne clenched her fists, dizzy and unable to refuse. She had a high fever and had planned to go to the hospital with Lysa. She hadn't expected Lucian.

Archie and Benny, equally concerned, chimed in, "Mommy, we'll go to the hospital with you. A shot will make you better, just like you give us when we're sick."

They helped her sit up. Estella's eyes filled with tears.

Seeing their anxiety, Roxanne agreed. She nodded at Lysa. "Could you come to the hospital with me?"

The boys wanted to accompany her, but Roxanne refused. "Stay home and rest. I'll be back soon." She didn't want them out so late.

Before Lysa could respond, Lucian said, "I'll take her. Lysa can stay and care for the children."
