Chapter 1881: The Second Examination

The busy week flew by. The Farwell family's seaside golf resort, an expansive location brimming with lush greenery, provided the perfect wedding venue. The sea breeze and crashing waves created a romantic atmosphere. Lucian had rehearsed several times without Roxanne, leaving her to wonder what the wedding would be like, though she anticipated a romantic affair.

Meanwhile, Flora Verba Group's third product batch completed consumer trials and, after improvements, entered production. Roxanne immediately conducted a quality inspection to verify ingredient ratios, alongside the quality control department's own tests. Factory employees received a limited employee discount, purchasing two sets per month.

At the research institute, Elektra met with Roxanne, discussing distribution to affiliated stores and proposing brand ambassadors—friends willing to endorse for preferential access to future products. Roxanne readily agreed.

Elektra’s marketing acumen and dedication to the partnership led Roxanne to believe she deserved a share of the third phase's profits. However, Roxanne missed the fleeting, calculating glint in Elektra's eyes. Elektra, however, had a hidden agenda; she was using the A-list celebrities to escalate an impending controversy.

"I'll check on the factory and ensure the employees aren't overworked," Elektra said, leaving the office. She then called Christina. "Production has started. Trucks will distribute nationwide for three days. Our plan begins tonight!"

Christina's enthusiastic response—"I'll return from Hawen tomorrow to witness this! I've made the necessary arrangements"—hid her true motive: sharing in the spoils.

At the factory, two lorries were loaded and ready to depart. Elektra immediately contacted Leroy Leeson, the factory manager—formerly of the research institute and transferred by Roxanne—to halt the trucks for an inspection.

Leroy, puzzled, questioned the unexpected test, explaining the products had already passed quality control. Roxanne’s trust in Leroy meant she hadn't requested further testing previously.

Elektra preempted any notification to Roxanne, fabricating a reason: "It's a new requirement from the authorities, a simple examination." Only by convincing Leroy could she prevent him from informing Roxanne.
