Chapter 1883: A Manor Discount

The following days filled Elektra with anxiety. Fortunately for her, Roxanne was preoccupied with wedding preparations. Nevertheless, Elektra felt compelled to further distract her. The next morning, she took Roxanne to an official press conference at the research institute.

The event, focused on safety protocols, proved long and tedious, stretching from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon. Afterward, Elektra treated Roxanne to coffee before Roxanne departed for a wedding gown fitting.

That day, three hundred thousand product sets, transported on sixteen trucks, were tampered with.

That evening, upon Roxanne's return to the mansion, Elias and Sonya played games with the children downstairs, while Lucian read an architectural magazine in the living room.

โ€œDarling, I think our house is too small,โ€ Lucian began. โ€œI saw a manor recently, and itโ€™s quite appealing. Itโ€™s newly listed; perhaps youโ€™d like to see it?โ€

Roxanne glanced at the price, a long string of zeros signifying billions. โ€œThis place is large enough,โ€ she replied, her frugality persisting despite her wealth. โ€œThe garden alone is the size of several basketball courts.โ€

โ€œThat wonโ€™t do,โ€ Lucian countered. โ€œWhat if we have many children? We need a manor. Imagine a garden pavilion, faux hills, streamsโ€”a classical countryside design. Don't you like it?โ€

Seeing her fascination, he continued, โ€œOf course you like it. I'll decide. We do need more space for the children; a slide, half a soccer field.โ€

Roxanne's words were barely out when Lucian called the developer. โ€œThis is Lucian Farwell. I'm interested in your largest manor. Reserve it for me.โ€

His concise statement elicited a lengthy project overview and profuse gratitude. Lucian concluded curtly, โ€œGot it. Settled then!โ€ He hung up, his casual tone mirroring Roxanne's when ordering coffee.

Only five manors were part of the project, their exorbitant prices expected to slow sales. However, Lucian's purchase guaranteed the others would sell quicklyโ€”the chance to be his neighbor was highly desirable.

Half an hour later, the developer arrived with a large team, surprising Roxanne. Lucian invited them in, having several requests to make. Immediately, the developer offered a thirty percent discount, amounting to hundreds of millions.

Roxanne was delighted by their generosity. โ€œMr. Farwell,โ€ the developer said, โ€œmy design team is here. Any requests you and your wife have, we will record and fulfill.โ€

โ€œExcellent,โ€ Lucian replied. โ€œPlease, have a seat, make yourselves comfortable.โ€

Lucian shared his ideas, inviting Roxanneโ€™s input. After a two-hour discussion, they reached a consensus.
