Chapter 1925: Calm Down

The acupuncture session lasted over an hour. Beads of sweat gathered on Roxanne's forehead; her hunched posture protested. Nevertheless, her focus remained entirely on Yennefer.

When the last needle was inserted into Yennefer's crown, the housekeeper exclaimed, "Doctor! Mrs. Lann is awake!"

Awakening, Yennefer surveyed Roxanne and the housekeeper. Slowly, her memories returned. "Laura, this is..." she recognized the housekeeper but not Roxanne.

Seeing Yennefer's calm expression, Roxanne breathed a sigh of relief. "Mrs. Lann, this is Dr. Jarvis," the housekeeper announced merrily, hurrying out to fetch Jones.

Despite her relief, Roxanne remained vigilant, fearing Yennefer's clarity wouldn't last.

Jones rushed into the bathroom, clothes in hand. Seeing his wife's gentle demeanor restored, he profusely thanked Roxanne.

"Jones, what are you doing? Dr. Jarvis... isn't Lucian's wife? I thought they were about to marry. What's going on with me?" Her last clear memory was distant.

"Mr. Lann, please dress Mrs. Lann quickly. Is Professor Zucker ready?" Roxanne asked anxiously.

Jones nodded, quickly dressing his wife.

"Jones, what happened? I... what happened? Did I have another episode? What about our son? Where's our son? We're at home, right? Is our son back in the country?" Her last memory seemed to be their trip to Alendor and the incident with the thugsโ€”specifically, James shooting them.

Jones tensed, fearing his wife would relapse. He quickly changed the subject. "We're home. We're about to attend Lucian and Roxanne's wedding. You know, the woman from earlier?" He dared not mention James.

"Is that so? So that's the miracle doctor, Roxanne! She's so pretty and sweet. She's such a good match for Lucian. Did they come to our place to tell us about their wedding themselves?" Yennefer chatted, oblivious to Jones's anxiety as he dressed her.

He led her from the bathroom. The sight that greeted her was alarming: Robert, flanked by a team of grim-faced doctors. Anyone would be apprehensive.

Fortunately, Lucian and Roxanne approached, smiling.

"Mrs. Lann, I hired these people for a product survey. If it's okay with you, why don't we go to the living room to work with them?"

Yennefer, favorably impressed by Lucian, returned his smile. "Which product is it? Lucian, you're about to get married, so why are you still concerned about a product? But I have to admit, Ms. Jarvis seems like a sweet and gentle woman. You two are really a match made in heaven," she chuckled.

Jones inwardly praised Lucian's quick thinking as his wife's mood stabilized. Considering Lucian like a godson, she allowed him to lead her to the living room.

Roxanne quickly cautioned Robert and his team. "Professor Zucker, you must proceed slowly. Don't rush it. Just play along with Lucian's storyโ€”the product survey. Then, subtly begin her treatment."

"Yes. We're professionals," Robert muttered, nodding stiffly.

The psychologists followed them into the living room.
