Chapter 2045: What Are Your Plans Next?

"What exactly did you write? Let us have a look!" James's curiosity was evident.

Sheer panic seized Elektra. She crumpled the paper into a ball, clutching it tightly.

"Cut it out! It's childish stuff from ages ago, nothing to see!" She furtively glanced at James, her cheeks flushed.

Fortunately, the frigid weather made rosy cheeks unremarkable. Neither James nor Jonathan suspected anything.

Jonathan, however, asked with a solemn expression, "Are you still planning on leaving?"

A gust of wind swept past, imbuing the moment with a poignant feeling. They had been childhood friends, and no one knew when they might meet again if Elektra left. Perhaps they would all be married by then; their current feelings might well have faded.

A faint smile touched Elektra's lips. "I initially planned to avoid reality. But you two gave me courage. I should face things head-on. I won't be leaving anymore!"

Her long-ago wish stirred memories. She couldn't recall why she'd had romantic feelings for James. Had she truly been in love with him? Why had it become Lucian later?

Jonathan and James exchanged a smile upon hearing her resolute reply.

"How strange," James remarked. "This wish bottle not only changed you, Jonathan, but it even convinced Elektra to stay."

Jonathan and Elektra were already in the car, turning around and speeding away.

"Where are you two going?" James hastily followed in his own car.

Jonathan hadn't expected Elektra's destination: Roxanne's house. He drove familiarly into the Farwell courtyard. Lucian was building a snowman in the snow-covered space. Countless oddly shaped snowmen littered the grounds. Roxanne's face was flushed, but she was bundled in warm layers of clothing. Lucian wouldn't have let her out otherwise.

At the sight of Jonathan, the couple called out, "Come here, Jonathan! The snowman you built yesterday crumbled!" It turned out the snowmen were the work of the triplets, Jonathan, Madilyn, and themselves.

Jonathan chuckled. Elektra opened the car door and stepped out. Roxanne and Lucian were startled.

Lucian inclined his head. "You're back!" His friendly tone touched Elektra.

Smiling, Elektra greeted Roxanne, "How are you doing, Ms. Jarvis?"

Roxanne smiled amicably. "Pretty good. It's cold; let's go inside." She wondered what Elektra wanted.

James arrived after they entered the house. The warm living room was comfortable. Lucian helped Roxanne remove her jackets. Elektra remained calm.

Once seated, Lucian brewed coffee and jasmine tea for Roxanne. Then he casually asked, "What are your plans next, Elektra?"
