Chapter 2051: Such Small Retribution Is Nothing
Roxanne and Lucian arrived at Building No. 16, a three-story standalone mansion in the suburbs, valued at no less than ten million. Lights shone from the second floor, indicating Winnie was still awake. Roxanne, grim-faced, rang the doorbell.
A gruff voice grumbled, โWho is it? Itโs the middle of the night!โ
Roxanne recognized it instantly: Yosef.
He appeared at the iron gate, reeking of alcohol. He froze upon seeing Roxanne and the imposing Lucian. The streetlights illuminated his uncertain expression.
โRoxanne? So late. What do you want?โ His gruffness vanished, replaced by a semblance of sobriety.
โOpen the gate. I want to see Winnie!โ Roxanneโs tone was frosty, brooking no delay.
โSorry, my mom isnโt here. Come back another day!โ Yosef stammered, panic flickering in his eyes, before turning to leave.
Lucianโs steely voice cut through the night. โIf you donโt open the gate, I donโt mind tearing down your mansion tonight!โ
Terror gripping him, Yosef remained frozen. Lucian, having had enough, signaled his bodyguards. They vaulted the relatively low iron fence with practiced ease. Within seconds, Yosef was pinned to the ground.
โRoxanne, Lucian! This is trespassing! Iโll call the police!โ Yosef struggled, his tears imminent.
Roxanne approached, crouching beside him. She slapped him twice, the memory of Yosefโthe โelder brotherโ Grant forced her to acknowledgeโand his male classmates bullying her flooding back. Their taunts, punches, and kicks were seared into her memory. She couldn't believe he lived so freely in Horington. Two slaps were insufficient to quell her rage.
โYosef, itโs time to settle the score!โ She gritted her teeth, but Lucian restrained her.
โLet me handle this. Hitting him soils your hands,โ Lucian said, his gaze dark. He wouldn't let anyone who harmed his wife go unpunished.
โBreak his hands!โ Lucian's low command was laced with lethal intent.
The bodyguards obeyed swiftly. Yosef screamed in agony as his radius was shattered. His muffled groans and sharp intakes of breath followed. He trembled, sweat beading on his forehead.
Roxanne remained impassive. She wanted far more retribution than broken bones. The thought of his brutal attack when she was tenโleaving her bruised and with hairline fracturesโfueled her anger. This was mere retribution; a small fraction of what he deserved.
Yosefโs screams drew Winnie from upstairs. โYosef! What happened?โ
