Chapter 2078: Cruel

It took less than thirty seconds for the electric saw to sever the metal chain; the gate crashed to the ground. Lucian and Roxanne stepped through.

Yuliana rushed downstairs, shocked. "What are you two doing? It's illegal to break into someone's home! I'm calling the police!" she exclaimed, raising her phone.

Roxanne swiftly snatched the phone and smashed it on the ground. "I've been the good guy my entire life," she seethed, "but kindness gets you taken advantage of. With shameless people, you have to be more shameless! It feels so good being the baddie."

Yuliana was startled, unable to prevent Roxanne's advance.

"Come out, Winnie!" Roxanne called.

"What are you doing, Roxanne? Get out—" A sharp slap landed on Yuliana's cheek. "So what if I'm violent?" Roxanne snarled. "I've lost all patience after learning of my mother's suffering at Winnie's hands."

Astonished, Yuliana tried to stop Roxanne, but the bodyguards restrained her. Lucian tacitly supported his wife.

Fear gripped Yosef, but his plastered arms kept him on the couch; he could only squirm, a humorous contrast to the tension.

Winnie dashed into the kitchen, returning with a knife and a vicious glare. "What are you trying to do, Roxanne? You want revenge, but you haven't gotten it. If the police can't touch me, what makes you think you can? Leave now, or I'll use this knife!"

The tension escalated. Lucian entered, his bodyguards pushing Yuliana forward, and confronted Winnie, instantly causing the older woman to crumble.

"Be sensible, Winnie," Lucian emphasized each word, murderous intent in his eyes. "If you don't want Yosef and Yuliana to see blood, stop resisting!"

Roxanne, usually afraid of knives, was driven by hatred. She stepped closer to Winnie, gritting her teeth. "I found my mother's will, Winnie! It proves you poisoned her! You replaced her, stole Grant, and then killed her! How could you be so heartless?"

Winnie's eyes darted around. "I didn't! That will proves nothing!" she denied.

"Still denying it? I'll make you admit it!" Roxanne's animosity was terrifying.

Winnie looked to her daughter for help. Yuliana was stunned. More than a decade later, was there really evidence?

"You're cruel, Winnie!" Roxanne declared. "You charmed Grant, used Yosef to force my mother to accept you. Grant brought Yosef to my mother—he's a fool! She helped you and that cheating bastard care for Yosef to save my life!"

The bodyguards swiftly disarmed and restrained Winnie.
