Chapter 2082

In the scorching August heat, Horington's temperature soared to thirty degrees Celsius since early morning. The city felt stifling, save for the occasional sea breeze.

In Flora Verba Hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department, Roxanne experienced wave after wave of contractions. Sweat beaded on her forehead, a deep furrow creased her brow, and her jaw was clenched tight as she fought to mask her pain.

Lucian held her hand firmly. His wife's grip revealed the intensity of her suffering. Worry etched his face, his eyes filled with distress. He lowered his head, kissing her forehead, then her nose, finally resting his lips at the corner of her mouth.

"Darling, hold on. You can do it. Archie, Benny, and Essie are all waiting outside, cheering you on," he murmured gently.

Roxanne nodded, a blissful smile gracing her lips. "I know. Don't worry. It should be quicker this time."

Doctors and nurses stood by, alert and ready. The pressure was immense; after all, their director was delivering.

Soon, the doctor said gently, "We'll be taking her in now, Mr. Farwell. Please wait here."

Lucian nodded, releasing Roxanne's hand. He left the delivery room and waited in the hallway. Elias and Sonya paced anxiously.

"Daddy, is Mommy in pain?" Estella ran to him, tears streaming down her face, her worry evident from her mother's earlier cries. Archie and Benny, despite their rudimentary understanding of childbirth, were also nervous, their gazes fixed on their father.

"She's fine. Don't worry. Trust your mommy; she's the best. You'll meet your siblings soon!" Lucian reassured them, striving for calm.

Elias suddenly remembered something. "Sonya, prepare the seaweed soup! Roxanne can have some after the delivery."

Lucian frowned. "Can she drink it immediately after giving birth?"

"Of course," Sonya replied. "I've also prepared mushroom soup. She needs to replenish nutrients quickly. A natural birth is easier than a C-section." She turned to begin preparations.

Lucian continued to comfort the children, answering their questions about their soon-to-arrive siblings. Madilyn and Jonathan arrived shortly after.

"How long has she been in there, Lucian?" Madilyn asked.

"Not long, just two minutes."

Madilyn hurried to the medical staff's changing room, donned a sterile gown, and strode to the delivery room. Looking back at the children, she said, "I'll take care of your mommy. Don't worry! Everything will be fine!"

The children nodded and called, "Thank you, Aunt Madilyn!"

Shortly after, two babies' cries echoed from the room. Everyone in the hallway froze, then joy flooded their faces.

"Finally!" Sonya whispered, "Please keep Roxanne and the babies safe and healthy."

Jonathan congratulated Lucian, "Congratulations, Lucian, on another boy-girl twin!"

Lucian's smile widened. The children cheered, "Mommy gave birth! Our brother and sister are here! Mommy's the best!"

Madilyn emerged, removing her mask to reveal a happy smile. "Roxanne and the twins are healthy. They're both around 2.75 kilograms eachโ€”a healthy weight. Congratulations."
