Chapter 2081: Without Regrets

A week later, Roxanne chose the largest plot in West Cemetery for her mother. It was approximately eighty square meters, appearing dignified and spacious.

On a sunny day, she relocated her mother's remains. A respected priest conducted a ceremony, lowering two urns into the grave. "Children of the deceased, please come forward," he announced.

Lucian and Roxanne approached, paying their respects. Behind them, Archie, Benny, and a tearful Estella stood, their grief evident. Elias and Sonya, with sorrowful expressions, stood beside them, offering condolences and promising to care for their daughter. Jonathan and Madilyn stood slightly further back, deeply moved by the truth surrounding Roxanne's mother's death. Despite their recent marriage, they had attended the funeral. James and Elektra arrived shortly after, positioned to their left. Behind them were Zachary, Henrietta, Lorraine, Jones, and Yennefer. A somber mood pervaded the gathering as they mourned the loss of a beloved mother.

The priest continued his chant, then gestured to the assembled mourners. "Everyone, please pay your respects to the deceased." The crowd followed his instructions, completing the ceremony's final rites. Immediately afterward, Roxanne wept, her body trembling; Lucian held her close. She had finally given her mother the proper funeral she deserved.

Friends and family approached, offering comfort and support. Roxanne accepted their condolences with gratitude. As Lucian gazed at her gently, her children gathered around, offering solace. Slowly, Roxanne composed herself. I bet Mom hopes I can live happily every day, she thought. Hugging her children, she reassured them, then thanked everyone for attending the service.

By the time they returned to the manor, the sun had set. As Roxanne settled, her children quietly approached. Sonya brought a bowl of soup. "You should eat something, Roxanne. It will help you relax." Roxanne obliged, then comforted her children before sending them to their homework.

Lucian received a call from Cayden. "Yuliana will likely receive an eight-year prison sentence and forfeiture of all her assets. Yosef faces three months for illegal activities," he told Roxanne.

Roxanne nodded indifferently. The funeral had brought closure. From today onward, she thought, I will live my life to the fullest as Lucian's wife and a member of the Farwell family, without regrets. She placed her hand on her abdomen, looking forward to the births of Seward and Noreen.
