Chapter 2084
No one could believe Roxanne maintained her perfect figure after giving birth to five children. Regardless of her attire, she appeared to be in her early twenties. Once, she was even mistaken for an undergraduate. This was largely due to her disciplined diet and consistent workouts.
Caring for Seward and Noreen proved effortless. Within six months, the twins were plump and rosy-cheeked, utterly adorable. Seward, uniquely among his siblings, strongly resembled Lucian, possessing his father's beautiful double eyelids and bright eyesโa miniature Lucian. Sonya exclaimed daily at seeing a younger version of her son. Noreen, meanwhile, inherited Estella's features, embodying perfect beauty; her smile was angelic.
The three older children diligently cared for their siblings, teaching them to say "daddy" and "mommy," crawl, and eat with their hands.
Madilyn, envious of Roxanne, frequently visited the manor to play with the children, harboring a secret desire to spend more time with them alone. One day, she and Jonathan arrived with two sets of personally laundered baby outfits. Upon seeing Seward and Noreen, Madilyn eagerly lifted them, showering them with kisses, impatient to dress them in their new clothes.
"Calm down," Jonathan cautioned. "Let's turn up the heater first."
Madilyn nodded. Roxanne descended the stairs, offering a simple greeting, "You're here!" She was accustomed to their visits.
"Roxanne, look! I bought two outfits and shoes for your babies," Madilyn announced.
Roxanne examined the clothes, praising her friend's excellent taste.
"You don't act like a mother," Madilyn teased. "Shouldn't you be worrying about these things?"
Roxanne grinned, glancing at Jonathan.
He quickly interjected, "Have you forgotten? Estella owns a children's clothing brand. Since Seward and Noreen were born, Snuggly has released numerous new products for them."
Madilyn sighed inwardly. The interconnectedness of wealthy families' businesses was, to her, both awe-inspiring and intimidatingโa system that eliminated worry.
After dressing the twins, Madilyn took pictures before chatting with Roxanne.
"I dreamt of a goddess last night," Madilyn lamented. "I wish I could get pregnant with one." She blamed her own body for its perceived shortcomings. She lacked a substantial family business to inherit, but she deeply loved children.
Roxanne felt Madilyn's pulse. A moment later, her eyes lit up. "Looks like the goddess answered your wish! Congratulations! You're pregnant!"
"Stop joking," Madilyn scoffed, believing her friend was teasing.
But Roxanne nodded seriously to Jonathan. A look of pure delight spread across his face.
"Really? You're pregnant? I'm going to be a father!" he exclaimed, his surprise palpable, his gaze tender.
Stunned, Madilyn asked again, "Are you sure?"
Roxanne nodded firmly. "You're pregnant. I'm not teasing. It's my turn to take care of you now."
