Everyone present was taken aback. Roxanne panicked as she watched a large hand seize her credentials. She had been avoiding Lucian since she saw him, but now, with her credentials confiscated, she was forced to confront him. "What is he trying to do?" she wondered.

Lucian held the documents, glanced at Roxanne, and commented, "Many people fake credentials to enhance their image. Old Mr. Queen's condition is critical, so you mustn't be fooled." He casually flipped through the credentials, reading them extremely slowly, meticulously examining them for any sign of forgery. His eyes absorbed every detail of her lifeโ€”her schools, her employment. He began to reconstruct her past years in his mind. Her achievements abroad were indeed impressive; each credential was exceptionally good.

Roxanne watched anxiously. She noticed a hint of mockery playing on the corners of Lucian's lips as he read. Unsure of his intentions, she could only wring her hands and hope for the best.

After a long pause, Lucian slowly closed the credentials. Roxanne tensed. "This looksreal enough," he said coldly, sweeping his gaze past her. "However, Jonathan, I suggest you verify her information online. These credentials could be bought."

Roxanne couldn't contain herself any longer. "He's deliberately trying to undermine my medical skills!" she thought. Normally, she might have tolerated this, but this concerned the research institute and her chance to treat Alfred. Staring intensely at Lucian, she replied coldly, "Yes, credentials can be bought, but not medical skills! My capabilities will be evident when I treat Old Mr. Queen, Mr. Farwell."

Tension filled the air, a conflict brewing. Jonathan found the situation peculiar. Did they know each other? Why else would he speak to her like that?

"Do you two know each other?" Frieda asked.

Roxanne instantly denied it. "No! How could I possibly know someone as influential as Mr. Farwell?" Turning to Jonathan, she said, "I'm here to treat Old Mr. Queen. Please, may I examine him?"

She was deliberately avoiding Lucian. Her abrupt change of subject caught Jonathan off guard. Her expression grew even more serious. "I am a doctor, here to assess Old Mr. Queen's condition. Even if I can't treat him, he won't be harmed. Please let me examine him. If I can treat him, he has a chance; if not, I'll leave immediately."
