Chapter 311: Come Out and Apologize

The car slowly stopped in the parking lot near the commercial area. Aubree held Sonya's arm tightly as they left.

While shopping, Aubree didn't mention Lucian. It was as if she'd already let go of their marriage.

They emerged from the shopping mall with numerous bags, nearing noon.

"I've booked a table at a highly-rated restaurant online. I think you'll like it," Aubree said, smiling.

Sonya didn't respond verbally, but Aubree took her silence as agreement.

Since the restaurant wasn't nearby, they returned to the parking lot to get their car. As they reached the entrance, a car suddenly sped toward them.

Startled, they quickly jumped aside. They initially thought the car would leave, but before they could regain their balance, it turned and sped toward them again. Cornered, they had nowhere to go.

Sonya was terrified; her bags spilled to the ground. Aubree gasped in shock. Sonya instinctively closed her eyes as the car bore down on them.

Suddenly, Aubree's voice, strained and urgent, pierced the air. "Mrs. Farwell, watch out!" She grabbed Sonya's arm and pushed her out of the way.

Sonya stumbled, momentarily dazed. Her mind was blank. Only when she heard a scream did she regain her senses and open her eyes.

The car screeched to a halt, skidding sideways. Aubree lay pale and injured on the ground, clutching her shoulder. Her pain was evident.

"Aubree!" Sonya rushed to her side. "Does it hurt? I'll call an ambulance!"

Aubree managed a grim smile. "I'm relieved you're okay. No ambulance needed. I thinkit's not serious. Don't worry." She took Sonya's arm, trying to stand.

But she couldn't move her injured arm and collapsed, her face paling. Sonya gently helped her up. Looking at the injured arm, Sonya said heartbreakingly, "I think your bone is broken. It's all my fault. You wouldn't have been hit if you hadn't saved me."

Aubree, clutching her arm, was almost speechless with pain. She then glanced at the car and mustered her strength. "Hey! You hit someone. Why haven't you come out and apologized?"

Her weak voice echoed in the quiet parking lot.

Sonya, after Aubree finished speaking, stared at the driver's seat. Just as she was about to speak, the driver slowly started the car. Fear flashed across her face.

The car turned, sped toward the parking lot exit, and disappeared before Sonya could react.

As Sonya reached for her phone to call the police, Aubree held her arm, murmuring, "Mrs. Farwell, is my arm broken?" Her eyes were bloodshot from the pain.

Sonya, ignoring the hit-and-run driver, helped Aubree into the car and drove her to the hospital.
