Listen to this chapter:

Jonathan saw Roxanne's worry and understood its cause. He rephrased: "Queen Group won't fall out with Farwell Group over something this trivial, and I won't risk Queen Group. Naturally, I prepared for this conversation."

Roxanne's hesitation faded as she met his confident gaze. However, she asked, "But why are you helping me? Is it because I cured Old Mr. Queen?"

Jonathan recalled his conversation with Lucian the previous night, altering his thoughts as he looked at Roxanne. She, in turn, felt uneasy.

A moment later, Jonathan said slowly, "My grandfather was bedridden for years, and it's thanks to you, Dr. Jarvis, that he's recovered. You said he was near death when you took his case. You're his savior, a great benefactor to the Queen family. My grandfather considers you one of the family and asked me to be considerate."

Roxanne remembered Alfred's matchmaking attempts. Hearing Jonathan, she wondered if Alfred had given up. An apologetic look crossed her face. "Please thank Old Mr. Queen for me. Treating and saving patients is my duty. The Queen family paid for my services; we don't owe each other anything. Old Mr. Queen needn't worry about it."

After a pause, she continued gravely, "Moreover, I have two children. I already clearly rejected Old Mr. Queen's suggestion last time. I'm sure you wouldn't agree either."

Her words changed the expressions of the others. Jonathan looked exasperated. "Is it that easy to misunderstand me? Even Lucian misunderstood me last night. Now Roxanne is doing the same."

Colby's heart sank, his eyes widening. He knew Roxanne and Jonathan had grown closer after she treated his grandfather, but he didn't know about Alfred's matchmaking attempts. Though unsaid, Colby guessed Alfred wanted to marry her to Jonathan.

Jonathan dismissed his exasperation. Amused, he explained to Roxanne, "It has nothing to do with that. You rejected him, so how could my grandfather persist? We simply feel the Queen family should have a friend like you after you saved my grandfather and we learned about your character."

Roxanne sighed in relief and smiled. "In that case, I'll accept, Mr. Queen. Regardless of the herb suppliers, I'm grateful for the Queen family's help. Please let me treat you to a meal."

Jonathan smiled brightly. "Good! For that meal, I'll convince those herb suppliers. Please wait for my good news, Dr. Jarvis!"

They chatted further about the herb suppliers before Jonathan left. The final sentence, "Search the FindNovel.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality," has been removed as it is an advertisement unrelated to the text.
