Chapter 627
When Lucian heard Estella mention Aubree, his gaze darkened. No wonder Roxanne still wouldn't accept him! Even Estella knew about his entanglement with Aubree. Surely, Roxanne was still bothered by it. He needed to accelerate his efforts and convince his mother to forget about Aubree.
Lucian pulled himself from his reverie and asked in a deep voice, "Do you like Ms. Pearson?"
Estella vehemently shook her head. "Why on earth would I like that evil woman? She's only nice to me when Daddy is present. Otherwise, she pinches my arms and spanks me!"
Lucian nodded, promising, "I won't marry someone you don't like."
Estella's eyes lit up.
"But if you want Ms. Jarvis to be your mommy, I'll need your help, Essie." Lucian gave Estella a meaningful look.
Perplexed, Estella tilted her head. "Daddy is already acceptable. Why does he need my help?"
Seeing Estella's confusion, Lucian helplessly patted her head. "There's a misunderstanding between Ms. Jarvis and me. Essie, help me clear it up, okay?"
Knowing she could help make Roxanne her mother, Estella readily agreed. "Okay!"
Then, she looked at Lucian, confused. "But what do I need to do?"
Lucian wasn't surprised by her willingness. He produced concert tickets and placed them on the table.
Estella stared curiously. "What are these?"
"Concert tickets. Help me give these to Archie and Benny, okay? Get them to pass the tickets to Ms. Jarvis so we can go together."
Since they were VIP tickets allowing children, Estella remained puzzled. "Why are we going to a concert?"
Lucian chuckled at her innocence. He playfully pinched her nose. "You're too young to understand. Just do as I say, okay? Trust me. I'll marry Ms. Jarvis and make her your mommy."
Estella obediently nodded. "Okay! I'll definitely do as you say, Daddy!"
Although Estella didn't understand Lucian's plan, she trusted him. If Daddy said it would work, she'd listen. She wanted Roxanne as her mother so she could see her, Archie, and Benny every day.
Lucian patted her head and placed the tickets in her school bag. "It's getting late. Go to bed, okay?"
The prospect of Roxanne as her mother brightened Estella. She happily picked up her pencil. "I'll go to bed later!"
She sprawled on the table and resumed drawing. Lucian raised an eyebrow and sat beside her quietly, wondering what she would draw.
Estella drew two adults holding hands, with three children beside them. The identities of the figures were unmistakable.
"That's you, Daddy! And me, Ms. Jarvis, Archie, and Benny!" Estella proudly displayed her drawing. "We're a family!"
Lucian recalled a similar drawing Estella had made before, where he wasn't holding Roxanne's hand. This time, they truly were a family. A smile touched his lips as he noted the difference.
