Chapter 668
The concert hadn't begun when Lucian and Roxanne settled the children into their VIP seats. Their spot included a small, round, exquisite table with a chair on each side. Roxanne requested three additional chairs, positioning the children between herself and Lucian for easier supervision.
Observing the arrangement, Estella devised a plan. She quietly tugged Roxanne's arm. Roxanne, confused, looked down.
"I can't see the stage clearly, Ms. Jarvisโฆ" Estella said pitifully.
Roxanne frowned, examining the seating. She'd placed Estella there for convenience, overlooking the child's obstructed view. Without hesitation, she switched places with Estella.
Estella grinned, pleased to see her father and Roxanne closer. Archie and Benny, noticing their sister's maneuver, exchanged a glance and looked at their mother.
"Mommy, we want to sit with Essie!" they pleaded, tugging her dress.
Roxanne was about to agree, then hesitated, realizing the proximity to Lucian. The boys' pleading expressions, however, nearly brought tears to their eyes. Seeing Estella's equally expectant gaze, Roxanne understood their desire to sit together. Lucian, engrossed in the pre-concert preparations, remained oblivious.
After some deliberation, Roxanne switched places with the boys, seating them beside Estella.
"You three must stay quiet during the performance and refrain from running around," she cautioned, worried they might get overexcited and disturb others in their new positions behind her and Lucian.
The children nodded seriously, easing Roxanne's concerns. She then sat beside Lucian.
The moment she settled, Lucian, who had been focused on the stage, turned to her. Roxanne, feeling guilty, quickly explained, "The children couldn't see the stage well, soโฆ"
Though the children had initiated the change, she feared a misunderstanding. Lucian, after hearing her, merely frowned at the children behind them. Estella stuck out her tongue, revealing her orchestration.
Lucian subtly raised an eyebrow. Then, averting his gaze from his daughter, he looked at Roxanne. "I suppose their stature hindered their view. I wasn't being considerate enough."
Roxanne breathed a sigh of relief, offering a small smile. The three children, witnessing the adults' closeness, exchanged delighted grins.
