Chapter 720: List of Partners

Roxanne expected the Damaris family to announce their list of partners in a few days. She was surprised, therefore, to receive a call from Larry the very next morning, immediately after waking. Answering groggily, she heard Larry exclaim, "Have you seen it? The Damaris family has released the list of partners!" His words jolted her awake. "Why so sudden?" she asked.

Larry chuckled. "I'm as clueless as you are. But I heard there's a press conference in two days. We should be prepared; reporters can be demanding, especially towards newcomers without established backgrounds."

Grateful, Roxanne replied, "Thanks for the heads-up, Larry. I'll prepare."

Larry added, "Congratulations, Dr. Jarvis. Your reputation is finally gaining traction."

Roxanne smiled, "I hope I won't disappoint anyone."

"I'm sure you won't," Larry reassured her. After exchanging further pleasantries, they ended the call.

Still slightly in disbelief, Roxanne sat on her bed, legs crossed, checking the morning news. As expected, she found the Damaris family's project announcement, including the list of partners. Her name appeared directly beneath Larry's, followed by Daniel and other prominent doctors.

Despite this, Roxanne felt a surge of nervousness. As a newcomer, she lacked a substantial track record in the public eye. While accustomed to judgment, the skepticism she anticipated now felt amplified tenfold. Suddenly, she felt overwhelmed.

Just then, her phone rang again. Composing herself, she saw Harvey's name on the caller ID.

"I heard you've been appointed as one of the Damaris family's partners," Harvey said. Having been overseas, he rarely followed local news; without the announcement, he would have been unaware.

Roxanne's face lit up. "You heard? I wanted to tell you once everything was settled."

Harvey sidestepped her comment, smiling. "Well done. I've reviewed the list; many are established pioneers. Compared to them, you and Larry are relatively less experienced."

His observation struck a chord with Roxanne's insecurities, causing her to look dejected. Knowing his student well, Harvey smiled and consoled her, "Don't worry. I have confidence in your abilities. Besides, you're a student of Harvey Lambert. If anyone doubts you, they can come see me."

Roxanne felt reassured. "I understand. Thank you, Professor Lambert. I won't disappoint you."
