Boiling with rage, Stephen banged on the door. Jessica glanced at it sullenly before rising and approaching. She saw her father's fury the moment she opened it.

“Is this your doing?” he roared.

Jessica froze. Though he’d lost his temper before, she’d never seen him this livid. “It’s all Roxanne’s fault,” she thought. Despite her fear, she met his gaze. “What did I do wrong? All I wanted was to show everyone her true colors!”

Stephen’s brows furrowed. “What did you say?”

“Seriously, I don’t understand what people see in her! Even the Queen family defended her! I’ll never believe she cured Old Mr. Queen!”

Stephen’s puzzlement deepened; he sensed something was amiss, something atrocious his daughter had done without his knowledge. Recalling Farwell Group's actions that night, his stomach dropped. He strode into Jessica’s bedroom and stared at her phone screen. Picking up the device, he saw a barrage of comments—all about Roxanne, stemming from the three photos that surfaced the previous night. He realized his daughter was behind it all.

“You imbecile!” he bellowed, smashing her phone.

Jessica jumped, staring at him. “Are you insane? What are you so worked up about?” His response was a vicious slap. She clutched her cheek, disbelief etched on her face.

“Do you have any idea who has Roxanne’s back?” Stephen yelled. “Because you antagonized her, Farwell Group started attacking us the next day! Why did I tell you to apologize? Look what you’ve done! Do you think they’ll let us off this time?”

Jessica was speechless. “That can’t be… I know Lucian’s fiancée. Why would he support Roxanne?”

Seeing the situation’s severity, Stephen clung to a last hope. “I want you to apologize to Roxanne publicly! Do it now, online. We might still have a chance if you subdue these comments!”

Reluctantly, Jessica conceded; Farwell Group’s opposition left her no choice. Within minutes, using another phone, she posted a public apology on Twitter, blaming her jealousy of Roxanne and Jack's relationship. Her words seemed sincere, but the post only caused a minor stir before being overwhelmed by more negative comments. Even with increased belief in Roxanne's innocence, the remaining suspicions significantly impacted her.

Jessica and Stephen’s faces paled as the comments surged. The situation had spiraled out of control. At this rate, the Hightower family was doomed. Panic, then hatred, filled Jessica’s eyes. It’s all because of Roxanne! she thought. Seducing Jack wasn’t enough; she even went after Lucian, who already has a fiancée! None of this would have happened if it weren’t for her!
