Chapter 810: Do Not Let It Bother You
After much deliberation, Jonathan reached a blunt conclusion. "What you've done so far isn't enough." Lucian raised a skeptical eyebrow. "I only followed your instructions."
Jonathan was momentarily speechless at the sarcastic reply. He felt a strong urge to remind Lucian who actually needed help. However, remembering Lucian's inherent clumsiness in matters of courtship, he decided to take the blame. "That's because the methods I shared weren't sufficient," he conceded.
"What else can I do?" Lucian asked, perplexed. Roxanne's morning demeanor had left him uneasy, and he wanted to improve their relationship swiftly.
Jonathan scratched his nose. "Women appreciate romantic gestures. Consider doing something romantic to move her."
Lucian reflected on his recent interactions with Roxanne. "Come to think of it, I don't recall doing anything romantic. I may have, but I certainly wasn't aware of it."
"For example, surprise her with a gift while shopping, or organize a romantic dinner," Jonathan offered, aware of Lucian's romantic ineptitude. Lucian, however, frowned. "I'm not doing that." He added silently, There's no way I can bring myself to do something like that. Besides, Roxanne would likely see through me and doubt my sincerity.
Jonathan's exasperation grew. "The point is to be romantic. If those suggestions don't suit you, try something else. If you remain inactive, Dr. Jarvis will never forgive you. Sleep on it."
He offered several suggestions, all of which Lucian rejected. At this rate, Jonathan feared he would exhaust his ideas.
Lucian pinched the bridge of his nose after hearing his friend's words. Since I'm the one who wants to make amends, I should come up with my own ideas. Yet, he still struggled to identify romantic gestures.
Suppressing his anger, Jonathan advised, "At this point, just drop your airs. I've seen how poorly she's treated you, but it could have been worse. If you don't act, things will remain stagnant." He patted Lucian's back. "This isn't harder than business, and you have nothing to lose. If you truly want Dr. Jarvis's forgiveness, you must try."
A peculiar sensation overcame Lucian, and he finally nodded. "Okay. I'll do it."
Jonathan sighed in relief, attempting to rectify his earlier misstep. "Even if Dr. Jarvis agrees to be a technical advisor, that's still her job. Don't let it bother you."
Lucian knitted his brows, recalling their earlier conversation, then a smile spread across Jonathan's face. They resumed discussing matters concerning the Herbscape Group.
