Chapter 890: Roxanne Is Here

Estella lowered her gaze discreetly and nestled into Lucianโ€™s embrace. "Ms. Jarvis smells so much better than Daddy!"

Lucian scoffed at the irony. He believed Estellaโ€™s fondness for Roxanne stemmed simply from the mother-child bond. Little did he know, Roxanne felt the same about Estella. He still thought Roxanne had prioritized her career over Estella.

"Daddy, don't feel bad, okay?" Estella recalled the tearful phone call. In a sheepish, cute tone, she added, "I only want Ms. Jarvis to be my mommy."

Lucian, reminded of the call, fell silent for a few seconds after Estella repeated her request. He wanted to refute her, but remembered Jamesโ€™ advice. He took several deep breaths to control his anger.

Finally, he replied vaguely, "I won't marry someone you don't like. Besides, I'm not planning on getting married anytime soon."

Estellaโ€™s eyes lit up. "I only like Ms. Jarvis!"

Lucian realized this meant Roxanne was the only woman he could marry. A bitter look crossed his face; he hadn't expected such a swift response. Estellaโ€™s sly gaze intensified as she stared at him.

"I know," Lucian admitted, his brow furrowed.

Estellaโ€™s smile bloomed. Tugging at his shirt, she urged, "Daddy, quickly! Pursue Ms. Jarvis!"

Lucian merely nodded indifferently, his mind on the image of Roxanne with Jack. Even against his will, he acknowledged the truth: Roxanne was different now, more captivating, and no longer solely focused on him.

Estella pressed on, "You understand, right?" She wouldn't let it go without a firm answer.

Lucian sighed helplessly. "I'll try."

Satisfied, Estella eased from his embrace. Staring sternly, she encouraged, "You're the best daddy in the world! Ms. Jarvis is the best mommy! You'll succeed! After all, Archie, Benny, and I will be helping you!"

Lucian, amused and speechless, could only nod.

Suddenly, the mansionโ€™s intercom rang. All three looked towards the door, assuming it was Roxanne. Catalina took a few steps toward the entrance, then paused, awaiting Lucian's permission.

Lucian frowned. If Estella were asleep, he'd have refused the call. But she was awake, her gaze fixed on the door. He nodded to Catalina, signaling her to answer. If it was Roxanne, she would be allowed in.

Catalina breathed a sigh of relief and hurried to the intercom.
