Listen to this chapter:

The underground chamber was small, only about fifty square meters. Stone walls lined its sides; iron doors sealed the front and back. The door through which they had entered was already locked. The front door was closed, and a black curtain obscured whatever lay beyond.

Seeing the locked door, Scarlett frowned and looked at James.

"James, this is?" James waved her off.

"It's alright. We'll wait." He had faced worse. He wasn't worried about a mere local gang leader. Though James remained calm, Scarlett was anxious. Despite her experience with the triad world, she was still a grave robber, unfamiliar with these types of dealings. "James, Henry, everything will be fine, right?"

Sweat beaded on her face. She had noticed the heavy fortifications along the way—at least a hundred heavily armed mercenaries.

Henry tried to reassure her. "It's alright. If anything happens, I can force our way out without James's help."

Scarlett felt reassured.

They waited for about ten minutes. Then, a hoarse voice came from behind the curtain. "You must be Henry? Recommended by Brooks?"

Henry immediately replied, "That's right. Brooks recommended me."

"Speak. What intelligence do you wish to purchase?"

Henry glanced at James. James snorted.

"Is this how you conduct business? At least offer some chairs. And shouldn't you show your face?" James was already irritated by the lack of even a single stool. Jake Graham's refusal to reveal himself further fueled his annoyance.

The hoarse voice continued, "At my place, everyone stands. Showing my face is unnecessary. Speak. What information do you need?"

James said, "I want to know which underworld forces, besides The Great Four, were involved in the destruction of the Cadens. I need a list of everyone involved, and the mastermind."

Silence filled the chamber. After a while, the voice spoke. "That's top-secret information, buried for years. No one has ever bought it. The price is ten billion."

James replied, "Fine, but I see the information first."

From behind the curtain, the voice scoffed. "At my place, payment comes first. Pay up, then you get the information. I, Jake Graham, am a man of my word. I wouldn't sell information I don't have."

James's face darkened. Scarlett felt an icy chill. Only Henry knew James's rage; bloodshed was imminent.

James moved toward the front. "Don't act rashly," a voice rebuked. Dozens of fully armed mercenaries emerged from the back, weapons raised. Countless red dots targeted the trio.

James frowned. His silver needle had been confiscated; subduing the mercenaries instantly would be impossible. He looked at Henry.

"Is the money on the card?"

Henry nodded. "Yes, though not much is left. But we have ten billion."

James nodded. "Alright then. It's a deal."

He looked at the curtain. "Alright, it's a deal. But if the information is wrong, don't blame me for what happens next."

"Haha, don't worry. I'm a man of my word. I never lie to my customers."

"How should we proceed with the payment?" "By direct transfer."

James nodded. "Got it." The mercenaries pressed their weapons against the trio's heads. The black curtain was lifted.

A hooded man in black walked toward them and unlocked the iron door. Beyond it stood a luxurious house.
