Listen to this chapter:

James proposed they leave Eternality and start their own business. Gladys vehemently opposed this, believing it a conspiracy orchestrated by Howard and his family—a belief aligning with their desire to see the family fractured. Gladys's resistance was unwavering, despite lacking concrete evidence. Their helplessness fueled their anxiety.

"Leave this to me," James declared.

Seeing Thea's distress, James's heart ached. Taking her hand, he offered comfort, promising to reason with Yosef.

"It's no use," Thea sobbed, shaking her head. "If reasoning worked, he wouldn't have framed me. We have no evidence."

"Don't worry," James reassured her. "I have a plan." He left.

After leaving the Callahan residence, James called Henry, instructing him to contact Jake Graham to locate Yosef. Following the Blithe King's succession, Henry's access to official intelligence was revoked, forcing reliance on their underground network. Henry soon relayed Yosef's information to James.

James was satisfied. Jake's underground network's speed and accuracy far surpassed official channels. Yosef, living in a Cansington neighborhood, had recently retired early from the company, receiving a substantial bonus and pension. He was preparing lunch when he encountered James.

"James?" Yosef was taken aback. Aware of the Callahans' internal struggles and James's contentious relationship with employees after Thea secured him a position at Eternality, Yosef immediately suspected James's purpose.

"Oh hey, Mr. Zaborowski. Living the good life, I see. Chicken and fish for lunch?" James feigned casualness. Yosef recognized his intent but heard no direct accusation. "I'm old," Yosef replied with a smile. "This early retirement suits me. A nice meal is in order."

James's smile vanished. He grabbed Yosef by the collar, lifting him off the ground. Yosef cried out, "What are you doing?"

James dragged him to a window on the eighth floor. Terrified, Yosef wet his pants. "James, this is the eighth floor! Please don't…" he stammered.

"How dare you frame my wife, you piece of garbage!" James raged, loosening his grip.

Pale and terrified, Yosef clutched James's arm. "It wasn't me! Tommy made me do it. Howard paid me a million dollars to frame the chairman. I was threatened!"

James pulled him back inside and threw him to the ground. "Go to the Callahans and tell them everything. Or face the consequences."

Petrified, Yosef fled, stumbling down the stairs. James returned home.

At the Callahan residence, Yosef knelt before Lex, weeping. "Mr. Lex, James threatened to throw me off the building! He made me tell you it wasn't Thea's fault, that Mr. Howard ordered me to do it."

Lex slammed the table. "That bastard! How dare he?!"

"Mr. Lex, you have to protect me! James will kill me!"

"He wouldn't dare," Lex said coldly. "I'm curious to see what this family is up to. Tommy…"

"Yes, Grandpa?" Tommy eagerly responded.
