Exasperated, Lex bellowed, "Go get me Thea and her family now!"
"Yes," Tommy replied, a smug look on his face. He snorted. "What will you do now, Thea?"
The Callahans' villa wasn't far from Thea's. Tommy didn't call; he simply appeared unexpectedly. James was already home.
Seeing their dejected expressions, James smiled. "No worries. Yosef confessed and is on his way to the Callahans' villa to admit his mistake. Grandpa will be here soon."
Thea glanced at James. "W-What did you do to him?"
James smiled. "Nothing much. I just scared him. After threatening to throw him out the eighth-floor window, he spilled the beans. He even agreed to go to the Callahans' villa and tell them the truth."
"Haha, nice one, James," Thea said.
"I feel much better now," she added.
They rarely praised James, but he smiled faintly.
Soon, a knock came. "That must be the Callahans," James said, smiling.
Gladys ordered, "David, get the door."
"Got it." David stood and answered the door.
Seeing Tommy, his face darkened. "No use begging my sister. Unless you're willing to kneel before us."
Stunned, Tommy rebuked him. "Are you dumb, David? I'm not here to beg. Grandpa asked me to bring you all to the Callahans' villa."
David was puzzled. "Hasn't Yosef confessed?"
"Haha, yes," Tommy laughed. "I've conveyed the message. It's your choice now. I'm leaving."
Tommy left, his triumphant laughter setting off alarm bells for James. He returned to the living room. "Mom, Thea, something's wrong. Tommy said Grandpa wants us all to go to the Callahans' villa."
"Then let's go," James said, rising. Thea followed, along with Gladys, Benjamin, and Alyssa. They left for the Callahans' villa.
They arrived soon. Entering the villa, they sensed something was wrong. Lex looked surly, and Yosef sat beside him, head down and fidgeting. Seeing James, Yosef shivered, nearly collapsing. He looked at Lex pleadingly. "Mr. Lex, you promised you'd protect me. I have a family" Lex waved dismissively.
He looked up at Benjamin and his family. "You bastard! The nerve! Do you still care about me and the family? Don't you know the family rules? The first rule: Have a clear conscience. Think about what you've done!" Lex raged.
James frowned. What was going on? Had Yosef not told the truth? "Yosef, I told you to tell them the truth. What exactly did you tell Grandpa?"
"I-I" Yosef's face paled, but he recovered, remembering where he was. He glared at James. "Don't think I'm a pushover. Did you think you could make me frame Mr. Howard? Hell no! Thea made me substitute the fake medicine. This has nothing to do with Mr. Howard."
James was enraged. He'd never seen such treachery. Thea quickly stopped him from attacking Yosef.
