The tables turned astonishingly quickly. Felicia, Chad, and their family were barred from The Gourmand. Felicia, determined to gain entry, urged Chad, "Chad, you're from the Wilson family. You have a member card. Show it to him!"
Chad, resigned, approached Bryan again, presenting his silver member card. "Mr. Grayson, I'm a silver member. Over the years, I've spent a few million dollars"
"Beat him up," Bryan snapped, irritated by Chad's interruption while he spoke to Thea.
Security guards promptly beat Chad to the ground. He cried, "Stop! Please stop!"
"Haha," Gladys chuckled, her anger subsiding. She held her head high, pleased. "The Wilkins were boasting. It seems the Callahans hold the real power."
"Tell me about it," someone agreed. "Thea Callahan is friends with Alex Yates. She's reserved the Diamond Room, and even the owner greeted her personally!"
A buzz of conversation erupted. Thea remained confused. "Miss Thea Callahan, madam, and sir, this way, please," Bryan repeated.
"Welcome," a chorus of kneeling waiters—beautiful women in dresses—intoned. The onlookers were shocked.
"Is this how diamond members are treated?" someone gasped.
"This is crazy! So many beautiful women kneeling! My heart breaks for them!" Others expressed outrage.
The crowd cast envious glances at the Callahans. Gladys basked in the attention. David straightened, Alyssa placed a hand on his arm, chin lifted. They felt triumphant.
Thea, still bewildered and unfamiliar with Bryan Grayson, was guided onward. "This way, Miss Thea Callahan," Bryan said.
"Welcome," the kneeling waitresses repeated.
"Come on, Thea," James urged his bewildered companion. Thea finally reacted.
Led by Bryan, the Callahans used a private elevator to ascend to the fifth floor. Opulently furnished, the floor resembled a palace. Everywhere, women knelt.
David was stunned by the grandeur. Benjamin stared, jaw slack. Even Gladys's glee faltered, her mouth agape.
"Please enter, sirs and madams," Bryan announced, opening a door to a private room—hundreds of square meters, with round tables, a lounge, and a dance floor. Sumptuously decorated, it was palatial. The Callahans were speechless.
"Please enjoy your meal. I'll leave you to it," Bryan said, departing.
The Callahans struggled to react. "Dave, pinch me! Am I dreaming? This is The Gourmand's Diamond Room! Everyone says a meal here costs millions," Alyssa exclaimed, overwhelmed.
"Dear, what's going on?" Benjamin asked.
"What? Me? I don't know," Alyssa replied.
Gladys, equally bewildered by the extravagance, asked James, "Jamie, does this have anything to do with you?"
James, holding Thea's hand, rubbed his nose. "Me??? How could it? It must be you. The owner greeted you…"
