Listen to this chapter:

Tommy, the eldest grandson, was defended by the family when he was attacked. In the ensuing chaos, James became a pariah, as did Benjamin's family. Thea, once again, was subjected to vile insults. There were even calls for Lex to revoke Benjamin's shares. Tommy, elated by the family's support, sneered at James, conveying with his expression, "You're nothing in the Callahan family. Hitting me was your biggest mistake!"

Lex, furious at the disruption of the important family meeting, seethed. Gladys slapped James before he could respond, shouting, "You bastard, kneel down now!"

To everyone's astonishment, James kicked Tommy hard in the stomach, sending him flying two meters into a couch. Tommy lay there crying, a miserable sight.

"James…" Thea, frightened, started to apologize, but James prevented her from kneeling.

Lex, enraged, roared, "You've crossed the line! You're no longer a son-in-law of the Callahan family! Leave!"

"Say sorry, please," Thea pleaded, tugging at James's shirt.

"James, apologize, you piece of trash!" Gladys, fiercely protective of her family's business, which she had built with her own hard work, wouldn't let James's actions cost them their shares.

"He isn't worth my apology," James replied calmly.

Lex, shaking with rage, gasped for breath. Megan intervened, calming him with pats on the back. "Don't waste your energy on him. Let's just make him leave. Benjamin must have encouraged this disrespect."

Someone agreed, "Benjamin thinks he's all that after getting his 10%. He's showing no respect. He's probably telling everyone he's the head of the family now."

Gladys's anger was palpable. She loathed James. Benjamin remained silent, observing from the sidelines.

"Thea, let's go," James said, pulling Thea's hand. But Thea, on the verge of tears, felt utterly humiliated. She longed for her family's acceptance, a chance now ruined by James, despite his having defended her reputation earlier. Overwhelmed by conflicting emotions, she screamed, "James, is it so hard to apologize? You're a soldier, not a big shot!"

Seeing her tears, James's heart ached.
