Listen to this chapter:

Thea's family panicked after David's kidnapping. He'd been abducted just before reaching the traffic police, who made no attempt to intervene. They understood; someone driving a car worth tens of millions was clearly influential.

Alyssa grabbed Thea, pleading, "You're the only one who can save David. You know Alex Yates, right? Call him!"

"I I'll try," Thea replied, lacking confidence. But her brother's abduction left her no choice.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable," the automated voice announced.

"I called, but I can't reach him," Thea reported.

"Then what do we do? James! He's a retired soldier, right? He knew someone influential! Call him!" Alyssa sobbed.

"I've called him. He's on his way," Thea said.

"James will be useless. Don't be fooled. He wouldn't be so poor and marry into our family if he really knew someone influential," Gladys said calmly.

"What do we do, Mom?" Alyssa cried.

Gladys considered. "I'll call Mr. Smith. The Smiths are second only to the 'Great Four.' I was going to introduce Alyssa to him, but that was put on hold after Trent sliced her face."

Since Thea's appearance was restored, Gladys had relentlessly pursued wealthy suitors for her. Yoel Smith was her ideal son-in-law. They'd lost contact, however. She immediately called him, explaining the situation.

"Auntie, I'm nearby. I'll be there soon!"

Yoel, dining near Sky Flower Road, sped to the scene. Within ten minutes, his Porsche arrived. He saw the family and Thea, his eyes lighting up. He greeted them sincerely, "Auntie, Uncle, Thea"

Gladys saw him as a lifeline.

"Mr. Smith, you have to help us. David rear-ended a luxury car, and the driver is demanding eight million dollars. He said we can collect David's body if we don't pay."

"Auntie, don't worry. The Smiths are a first-class family in Cansington, second only to the 'Great Four.' I have connections," Yoel reassured her.

"Alright, then let's go to the Prosperous Dynasty."

Yoel was taken aback. That was Xander's property.

"Auntie, what car did David hit?" he asked cautiously.

"It it looks like a limited-edition Maybach."

Yoel stepped back. "Was the driver chubby and dressed simply?"

"Yes! Exactly!"

'F*ck!' Yoel thought. That was Xander, Cansington's underworld boss, formerly known as Black Wind Xander. He'd gone legitimate, but remained extremely low-profile. Provoking him had serious consequences. Yoel took a deep breath, glancing at Thea.

"Auntie, I can help, but Xander's not easy. I'll need my father's help. He has connections. But I need something in return. You said you'd introduce Thea to me."

For her son's safety, Gladys agreed. The promotional text ("Search the FindNovel.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.") has been removed as it's irrelevant to the text's content.
