Chapter 60: A Rewarding Task

Sienna's gaze snapped to Vivienne, a mocking smile curling her lips. Identifying the mastermind wasn't challenging; it was obviously Natalie, that relentless fool. Sienna recalled warning Vivienne about Natalie's retaliation, astonished by its swift arrival. She was curious to see if Natalie could face the consequences of her actions. Leaning forward, Sienna asked, "What do you plan to do about her?"

A cold smile, possessing the lethal charm of a poppy, curved Vivienne's lips. "I think I'll entertain her games a while longer," she replied. Taking down the viral posts hadn't deterred Natalie; she seemed eager for more trouble. Vivienne turned away, pulled out her phone, and sent a message to Owen: "I need a favor."

Owen called immediately, his tone casual. "Vivienne, you don't waste any time asking for favors, do you?"

"I'll send you a file shortly," Vivienne instructed. "Help me pin a video to the top of all major forums. Title it 'Popular Actress Colludes with Unknown Criminal Forces to Commit Violence in Public.' Make the font big and bold, as obvious as possible! Be sure to blur the faces—I can't risk my grandfather finding out."

Owen grumbled, "Am I really needed for such trivial things?"

"It's no trivial matter when your help is needed," Vivienne retorted, quickly sending a document to Owen via WhatsApp.

As Sienna examined her damaged car, fighting back dismay, she caught up to Vivienne, complaining, "You should've just revealed your real identity and put her in her place! I'd like to see her arrogance after that!"

"I intentionally kept my distance from the Sinclair family," Vivienne explained. "Plus, the Sinclair family doesn't flaunt their wealth." This stemmed from an incident in her mother's childhood—a kidnapping. After Hailey's safe recovery, Benjamin concealed all family details to protect her. Consequently, only a select few knew of Hailey and Vivienne as Benjamin's daughter and granddaughter.

Owen, having downloaded the file, scrutinized it intently. His expression was icy, a frost settling on his eyebrows. He muttered, "She's really pushing her luck!" His fingers flew across the keyboard, executing complex commands. As he navigated Natalie's data, a mischievous grin spread across his face. How intriguing!

In another part of town, Milo received an alarming update and rushed into the CEO's office. Annoyance crossed Derek's face at Milo's abrupt entrance.

"Sir, there's trouble involving Miss Hayes," Milo reported, showing Derek his phone. "This afternoon, she narrowly escaped an assault by unidentified assailants in the underground parking lot. Fortunately, she was unharmed. The suspects are now in custody and under interrogation."

"Good job," Derek said, returning the phone.

Milo accepted it with a modest grin as Derek, cool and detached, added, "Let finance know to double your bonus this month."

Helping Vivienne was definitely rewarding! Milo fought back a grin, replying respectfully, "Thank you, sir!"

"Keep the online discussions clean," Derek instructed, rising. "I want nothing that could sour her mood. Ensure there are no negative remarks about her anywhere."

He strode toward the expansive window, his presence dominating the room. Though the statement was short, Milo felt the fierce, ruthless aura behind it. He glanced at his boss's back, his gaze intensifying with understanding. The recent peaceful life had perhaps dulled his awareness of Derek's true nature. Hidden beneath Derek's charming facade was a mind both strategic and merciless. Milo lowered his gaze and responded, "Yes, sir."
