Chapter 61: The Center of Someone's World

Vivienne was returning to the company when her phone buzzed—a call from Cameron. It wasn't difficult to guess why; Owen, in his eagerness to ingratiate himself, had likely already told Cameron everything.

She sighed softly before answering, her tone bright and affectionate. "Hello, Uncle Cameron."

"Did it scare you?" Cameron's concern was immediate, cutting through the pleasantries. "Owen filled me in. Don't worry—I won't let you face this alone. I'll get to the bottom of it!" His voice was steady, with a barely perceptible undercurrent of restrained anger.

"Uncle Cameron, I can handle this myself," Vivienne replied, her voice firm but calm.

"I've already assigned someone to it. We'll have answers soon!" Cameron's tone sharpened, heavy with disapproval. "This went too far. I won't let the person responsible get away with this!"

Hearing his unwavering determination, Vivienne felt a wave of unexpected warmth. It was comforting to know her family had her back. She took a deep breath, steadying her emotions. "Uncle Cameron, I'm a Sinclair. Do you really think I'd let anyone push me around? I'll handle this. Besides, I wasn't hurt; there's no need to make a fuss."

There was silence. Then Cameron sighed, his words laced with reluctant agreement. "Fine, I won't interfere—but that doesn't mean I'll stand by and let you be treated unfairly." The message was clear: he'd let her take the lead, but his own investigation would continue.

After hanging up, Sienna turned to Vivienne, her expression a mixture of awe and envy. The Sinclair family's devotion to Vivienne was undeniable. She recalled the most extravagant example: Vivienne casually mentioning a desire for ice cream. Cameron hadn't just bought one flavor; he'd purchased every flavor available in Lyhaton, unsure which she preferred. Moments like that starkly highlighted what it meant to be the center of someone's world.

Sighing softly, Sienna said with sincerity, "Honestly, before I met you, I didn't even know what envy felt like."

Vivienne arched a brow, her calm expression masking her intrigue. "What?"

Sienna, slightly crestfallen, met Vivienne's gaze, a trace of grievance in her eyes. "I'm the heiress of the Sienna family—one of the four major families in Lyhaton. I can have anything I want. But compared to you, I feel… inadequate."

Vivienne gently lifted Sienna's wrist, her tone light yet meaningful. "I heard someone recently spent $500,000 on a bracelet at the Glorious Jewelry Auction. It looks remarkably like this one."

Sienna, flustered, pulled her hand away. The gemstones on her bracelet sparkled, but the indignation in her eyes dulled their luster. "He owes me that much!"

The car arrived at the Sinclair Group building. Vivienne stepped out gracefully. As she entered the company, her phone rang. It was Derek. "I've reserved a private room at Lonsong Restaurant. Care to join me for dinner tonight?"

Vivienne chuckled softly. "Dinner's still five hours away. Isn't that a bit early to be asking?"

"This was the only excuse I could think of that you wouldn't refuse," Derek replied, his tone earnest yet playful. "Unless," he added smoothly, "you'd prefer I use a more appropriate title—like your boyfriend."
