Chapter 108
Kieran frowned. He wasnโt oblivious that the Sutton familyโs servants had been giving Freya a hard time behind his back. But he had always been too indifferent to stand up for her. He even hoped the harsh treatment would drive her away. This time, however, Una had crossed the line.
Kieranโs voice was icy as he spoke, โThe Sutton family doesnโt need employees with such disgraceful conduct. Collect your wages for the month. Youโre no longer an employee in the Sutton family.โ
When Kieran made his decision, Unaโs expression soured even further. โMr. Sutton! It wasnโt me! Iโve been framed!โ
โTake her away,โ Kieran said. He had no interest in wasting time on trivial matters.
In no time, Jarrett had escorted Una out.
Aya straightened her bath towel and said, โMr. Sutton, may I go and get changed now?โ
Seeing Freya in her disheveled state, Kieran took off his jacket and tossed it to her, saying coldly, โChange into proper clothes and come down. I need to speak with you.โ
Freya glanced at the jacket and threw it back to Kieran the next second, saying, โThanks for the offer, Mr. Sutton.โ
Seeing his jacket tossed back at him made Kieranโs expression darken further. He gritted his teeth and thought, โFreya is getting bolder by the minute!โ
Upstairs, Freya changed into her clothes and walked down. As expected, Kieran was quietly waiting for her on the couch.
Chapter 109
Freya remembered silently observing Kieran in her past life. Back then, Kieran despised her, so she kept her distance, never daring to get closer. But things were different. Without her affection for Kieran, he was a stranger with decent looks in her eyes.
โMr. Sutton, Iโm here. What did you want to ask me?โ
As soon as Freya finished speaking, Kieran threw something at her. โPut this on.โ
โWhat?โ Freya frowned and looked down to see a lake-blue gown in her hands, its sequins shimmering like a mermaidโs tail.
โWhatโs this?โ
โDidnโt you say you liked it before?โ
Freyaโs frown deepened. She suddenly remembered how she used to follow Kieran around in her past life, like that time Audrey asked Kieran to join her on a shopping trip. She had been captivated by a lake-blue gown in the shop window for a long time. But back then, Kieran hadnโt paid her any attention. She had thought Kieran wouldnโt care, yet he remembered.
โWhy are you giving this to me?โ
Kieran had bought her a new dress after all the trouble she caused him. That was utterly baffling.
โAre you going to wear it or not?โ Kieran asked, his tone tinged with impatience.
โMr. Sutton, you at least have to tell me where weโre going if I wear this gown,โ Freya said. โThis isnโt something you wear to just any occasion.โ
