Chapter 256

โ€œYes, Mr. Sutton.โ€ As Jarrett was about to leave, he added, โ€œMr. Sutton, Iโ€™ve found a place near Summit University. Regarding Ms. Dawsonโ€ฆโ€

Images of the words Freya had said to Kieran earlier flashed through his mind. โ€œShe kept saying we were over and that she had nothing to do with me anymore, right? Then let her go.โ€

โ€œLet her go? But, Mr. Sutton, youโ€ฆโ€

This morningโ€™s conversation was entirely different. To keep Freya around, Kieran had even compromised by agreeing to a blind date with the Miller family. Jarrett swallowed the rest of his sentence.

Kieranโ€™s moods had always been stable, but heโ€™d become unpredictable since the fallout with Freya. Send her away. Just seeing her annoys me.โ€

โ€œYes, Mr. Sutton.โ€ Jarrett turned and left the study.

Kieran leaned back in his chair, exhausted, feeling the pain on his left cheek. Images of Freyaโ€™s smooth skin and her blushing cheeks invaded his thoughts. He must be out of his mind to have been daydreaming about a woman like Freya.

At dusk, Freya heard noises from downstairs, indicating someone was moving things. Shortly after, Nancy entered her room.

Freya asked, โ€œNancy, whatโ€™s happening outside?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s Mr. Sutton. Heโ€™s sent people to move your belongings, Ms. Dawson. He said the new house is ready, and itโ€™s time to move you there.โ€

โ€œThat fast? I thought they couldnโ€™t find a place?โ€

โ€œWellโ€ฆ Iโ€™m notโ€ฆโ€

Boliwinkle. Sure about that.โ€

โ€œAlright then, Iโ€™ll pack up myself. No need to bother you.โ€ With that, Freya got out of bed.

Nancy was startled and hastily said, โ€œMs. Dawson! Youโ€™re injured. How can you get out of bed? Let meโ€ฆโ€

โ€œNo, Iโ€™ve got this!โ€

Nancy was momentarily stunned by Freyaโ€™s response. Previously, Freya had been attentive and careful around Kieran, cherishing every moment she could spend by his side. But then, she seemed indifferent, even eager to pack up and leave at the news of moving out.

Eventually, Nancy stood up and said, โ€œWellโ€ฆ then Iโ€™ll leave it to you, Ms. Dawson.โ€

โ€œSure.โ€ Freyaโ€™s main concern was to hide the items Ronan had given her. She couldnโ€™t let anyone from the Sutton family find them. Nancy left Freyaโ€™s room, sighed, and turned around to see Kieran.

Nancy took a step back in surprise, โ€œMr. Sutton.โ€

โ€œWerenโ€™t you supposed to help Freya pack? Why are you out here?โ€

โ€œIโ€ฆ uhโ€ฆโ€ Nancy hesitated to explain.

Kieran, however, scoffed, โ€œShe must be panicking since she knows sheโ€™s leaving the Sutton family, right? She doesnโ€™t want to go, does she?โ€

He should have known Freya was always saying one thing and meaning another. Confronted with the reality of leaving, she must be desperate.

โ€œNot really.โ€ Nancy awkwardly replied, โ€œMs. Dawson seemed happy. She started packing her belongings herself.โ€
