“Freya! This is school! Do you seriously think about starting a fight here? Have you lost your mind?” Jenny couldn’t believe Freya, once a darling of high society who had fallen from grace, would dare do anything to her at Summit University!

Without Kieran’s support, Freya was nothing but a target for bullying at school.

“It seems like you’ve forgotten how you and Mae ganged up on me not too long ago here at school. You dared to lay your hands on me. Why wouldn’t I do the same? Since you’re provoking me, I have my version of the story for the principal,” Freya stated her logic calmly and methodically.

Ignoring Freya’s words, Jenny blurted out, “You used to be Mr. Sutton’s fiancée, so even if we couldn’t stand you, we didn’t dare touch you. But now that you’ve called off the engagement, do you think the principal would take your side?”

Everyone knew about Summit University’s unwritten rules. Only those with status enjoyed special privileges, ensuring their minor offenses got swept under the rug. Freya used to get all these perks because she was engaged to Kieran. But now that they split, not even the teachers were throwing her any bones.

“Are you implying the principal is corrupt?”

“That’s not what I meant, Freya. Don’t twist my words!” Jenny’s face soured.

Unperturbed, Freya retorted, “I heard you loud and clear. You’re saying since I’m no longer Kieran’s fiancée, the principal won’t speak up for me.”

“You…”

“Jenny didn’t mean it like that, Ms. Dawson. We apologize for our rudeness. But if you don’t let go, we’ll have to take this to the principal. After all, Jenny is a student council member. Assaulting her in public violates school rules, and even the principal won’t take your side,” Eloise quickly interjected, defending Jenny.

Freya released Jenny’s wrist at the right moment. As Jenny broke free, she immediately turned to strike Freya but got stopped by Eloise.

“Freya, who do you think you’re fooling? I knew you wouldn’t dare do anything to me. Or else, I’d go straight to the principal and report how you got Mae expelled. What you did to her, I can do to you!” Jenny continued to provoke Freya.

But Freya wasn’t foolish enough to react. She knew better than to waste her time on Jenny.

“Are you done? If so, I’m leaving. Don’t waste any more of my time.” With that, Freya turned to leave.

Suddenly, Eloise pinched Jenny’s thigh hard. Caught off guard, Jenny yelped in pain. In the library, all eyes turned to Jenny.

Freya frowned, only to see Eloise feigning concern. “Jenny, what’s wrong? Did she hurt you? Say something!”

Quickly catching on, Jenny clasped her wrist and accused Freya, “Freya, that was malicious! Just because we had issues before doesn’t mean you can attack me on purpose!”

“Me, attack you?” Freya found the accusation ludicrous. She had merely grabbed Jenny’s wrist without causing any harm. Yet there was Jenny, an adult, cradling her wrist and crying out in pain.

Following Jenny’s cue, the other students began to chastise Freya. “Freya, that’s too much. What did Jenny do to you? She was upset about Mae getting expelled, and you went too far!”
