Chapter 339

The school principal made another call to the Dean of Students, Director Sampson. When Sampson answered, the principal spoke sternly, โ€œDirector Sampson, itโ€™s me. Weโ€™ve reviewed the CCTV footage from the library this afternoon. Freya is suspected of getting into a fight, stirring up trouble, and injuring a student council memberโ€™s wrist. This has potentially jeopardized their exam preparations, which is utterly unacceptable! I want you to speak to Freya tomorrow and advise her to consider withdrawing from school.โ€

โ€œWithdraw? But graduation exams are around the corner. To ask Freya to leave nowโ€ฆโ€

โ€œSheโ€™s been on a leave of absence for several months already, and now, with her wrist injured, how is she supposed to take her exams? For our schoolโ€™s graduation rate, she should withdraw.โ€ The principal quickly issued his directive, leaving no room for Sampson to argue before hanging up.

Sampson glanced at the phone receiver in bewilderment, muttering, โ€œWhy do I always have to do the dirty work? Why canโ€™t you handle it?โ€

Despite his complaints, Sampson knew he couldnโ€™t delay the principalโ€™s request. He planned to carefully choose his words and relay the message to Freya the next day.

Meanwhile, Principal Miller also called Eloise, adopting a much friendlier tone, โ€œEloise, youโ€™re the student council president. Today, Freya was looking for trouble, and weโ€™ve confirmed from the libraryโ€™s CCTV footage that she was the aggressor. Iโ€™ve instructed Director Sampson to suggest to Freya that she withdraw. You donโ€™t have to worry about this.โ€

Unsurprised by the principalโ€™s actions, Eloise replied, โ€œUnderstood. Thank you for ensuring fairness, Principal.โ€

After hanging up, Caleb, who was nearby, asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s got you in such a good mood?โ€

โ€œJust something worth celebrating,โ€ Eloise said, a smile spreading across her face. Freyaโ€™s biggest mistake was breaking off her engagement with Kieran. In Echo City, a place where connections speak volumes, without Kieran, Freya was nothing.

With the principalโ€™s assurance, Eloise was in high spirits.

The following morning, Freya received a call from Sampson. Though he spoke diplomatically, Freya could tell he suggested she voluntarily withdraw from school.

โ€œDirector Sampson, is this your idea or the principalโ€™s?โ€ she inquired.

Sampson hesitated but quickly responded, โ€œRegardless of whose idea it is, the fact remains. The victim claims you were the one who started the physical contact, and the security footage shows you grabbing their wrist. If this gets out, it could really damage your reputation. Besides, your academic performance has been unstable, and with your hand injured, continuing the exams seems futile. It would be more dignified for you to withdraw voluntarily.โ€

Sampson patiently explained the pros and cons to Freya.

Freya found the situation amusing. She had proven her innocence to the principal but still got accused baselessly.

โ€œPlease tell the principal not to worry about me. I wonโ€™t fail the graduation exam. If they think Iโ€™ve assaulted someone, theyโ€™re free to involve the police. If the police find me guilty, I have no objection to being expelled,โ€ Freya retorted.

Seeing Freyaโ€™s refusal to withdraw, an impatient Sampson said, โ€œFreya, Iโ€™m trying to reason with you. Donโ€™t be stubborn. Staying here only affects the schoolโ€™s graduation rate. Besides, airing this dirty laundry benefits no one. It would be better to withdraw gracefully. With your familyโ€™s background, you could go abroad. Why insist on staying at Summit University?โ€
