Chapter 379

โ€œSeriously, youโ€™re just going to let them walk all over you like that? And now theyโ€™re spreading rumors about you behind your back! Itโ€™s your reputation thatโ€™s going to take the hit, not theirs. Iโ€™m just so mad on your behalf.โ€

Watching Luna puff up in indignation, Freya chuckled. โ€œYou know theyโ€™re just spinning tales. Butโ€ฆ I did stumble upon something quite intriguing.โ€

โ€œWhat? Do tell!โ€

โ€œEloise cheated.โ€

โ€œWhat?! Eloise, of all people?โ€

Lunaโ€™s eyes lit up with an almost predatory gleam. Eloise, the president of the Summit University Student Council, was well-known for her excellent academic track record, although there had been a noticeable dip in her grades recently. Given her public persona, the idea of her cheating seemed almost laughable.

โ€œFreya, whereโ€™d you hear that? Is it for real?โ€

โ€œI canโ€™t be 100% sure, but she looked really off today, especially when the dean mentioned they were cracking down on cheaters during exams. She seemed way too anxious.โ€

โ€œRight? If she hadnโ€™t cheated, why would she be nervous?โ€

Grabbing Freyaโ€™s arm in a rush, Luna declared, โ€œLetโ€™s go straight to the deanโ€™s office and report her!โ€

Eloise had tried to frame Freya in the deanโ€™s office last time. Although her plan didnโ€™t work out, it had revealed her true colors to Luna. Eloise always maintained a facade of kindness and generosity at school, but it appeared she was also capable of playing dirty when it suited her.

โ€œHold up!โ€ Freya stopped Luna in her tracks.

Seeing this, Luna fumed, โ€œAfter everything sheโ€™s done to you, youโ€™re still thinking of letting her off the hook?โ€

โ€œWho said anything about letting her off? But going to the dean without any solid evidence, just because she looked nervous today? Thatโ€™s not gonna cut it.โ€

Freya explained calmly, โ€œBesides, Eloise has Kieran covering her back. Without evidence, if Eloise turns the tables on us, claiming weโ€™re falsely accusing her, what then?โ€

โ€œSo, knowing what we know is the same as being clueless if we donโ€™t have evidence to prove Eloiseโ€™s guilt!โ€

Luna deflated like a balloon, her earlier enthusiasm evaporated.

Freya smiled. โ€œWe might not have evidence now, but we can find it. The schoolโ€™s surveillance footage could prove other students cheated, yet failed to catch Eloise, indicating she didnโ€™t use crib notes.โ€

โ€œBut how can we accuse her of cheating without crib notes?โ€

โ€œHave you forgotten who Eloise is? Sheโ€™s the president of the Student Council. What does the teacher in charge of the council have in abundance?โ€

Luna paused for a moment, then it clicked. โ€œKeys!โ€

โ€œExactly, keys,โ€ Freya continued. โ€œAs the president of the Student Council, Eloise has access to a spare key for the exam supervisorsโ€™ office. With that key, and probably other privileges that come with her positionโ€”after all, the council president is one of the most trusted students among the facultyโ€”sneaking into the office to tamper with the exam papers wouldnโ€™t be too hard, would it?โ€

โ€œWow, even with Kieranโ€™s backing, Eloiseโ€™s audacity is truly astonishing! For the Student Council president to secretly alter her own final exam paperโ€ฆ Thatโ€™s egregious. I doubt anyone at Summit University has dared to do something like this in a century!โ€
